Default AVT-40 rank 50 worth it?

After finishing the painful experience of leveling up the c96 into the pocket smg. I am wondering if any of you guys think the AVT-40 is worth getting it up. as i understand it turns into a scoped version with less recoil then the scoped SVT-40

any input would be appreciated.

i might just level it up for a laugh.

I've heard the same thing, but I only have the AVT-40 leveled up because I can never get sniper, so I cannot compare to the scoped SVT. In THAT regard, however, I would say yes because assault is easier to grab than marksman and you can play it as such. Compulsory IS-2.

it's the swiss army rifle (aka useful for everything)

only thing you lose is semi-auto mode which makes it slightly less useful for sniping.

I'm satisfied with the bayo on 25+ lvl. Makes a nice versatile gun for all situations (I don't scopesnipe. Ever).

I thought you could still change the fire mode if you didn't have the weapon shouldered, or something like that?

FALSE...

If you're holding the weapon at your waist and press 6 (default) it still switches from auto to semi-auto.

If you're looking through the scope and press 6 (default) it switches from scope to iron sights.

It takes some getting used to but it's definitely worth it.

Also, it should be noted that the weapon should be in semi-auto about 95% of the time. The only time you should switch to full auto is rounding a corner where there's the possibility of CQB. Even then, you should have your bayo finger ready because the magazine is so small if there's more than two enemies you're going to need to get stabby-stabby real quick.

You should think of it as a semi-auto rifle with a "panic" mode...

ah that's useful haha

I don't have it, so that was my experience with it from using it.

All the more powerful then.

I think it's worth it. The scope's quite useful for large maps and for some reason it makes you reload much faster than normal but the firing animation for the ironsights sucks, even on semi-auto (quite a common sight in RO2, firing animations that mess up your aim).
