Default Why can't we ride on tanks?

Instead of waiting for the Halftracks to come why can't there be implemented a feature to be able to ride the existing tanks as T34 and Pzkw 4 in Darkest hour you could do this, also if I recall corectly russian's didn't have much sort of halftracks in ww2 maybe a few from the landlease program from the americans. But all in all can't such a feature be implemented to the game?

I think you will like our transport too, we remember in ro1, i made transport tanks myself, but few jumped up, so i think halftrack, uc would be enough

Possibly, but that would also mean that we can jump higher anywhere on the map. Not sure if that will be appreciated. It would be better to place some ramps in the spawn and on a few locations on the map. Then tanks park next to it allowing players to jump on top of it. Though it will look odd.

Agree this should allready be in, playing barashka without hts or any transport possibility is really strange!

I'm guessing the same reason we dont have transports yet is why we cant ride on tanks.
They would have to implement animations for these actions and are finding it difficult.
I personally wouldn't care if they teleported onto the vehicles, as it didn't break my immersion of RO/DH, but i understand some people would prefer intricate animations of climbing up and down off transports/tanks.

So you will have to wait for a community offering i'm afraid

Honestly, "those" people are hindering the game. It's already been a year and a half. I think we just need to compromise and give up on animating everything. Would you rather have some sweet climbing animation 3 years after release... or have the ability to ride tanks without animations in the next month?

I asked for the same thing a couple of months back but to no reply, Its a shame because small little features like this would make a massive impact on gameplay and the quality of new larger maps ect.

Transport is just a matter of time(if someone miss transport you can hate me :P), but still i have many ideas of transports, and ill try to make it that way that you can shoot out of.

Tankoviki were used as motorized infantry and usually dismounted outside the range of enemy smalls arms fire, from 500 - 1000 meters. Aka from a larger distance than Ro2 maps.

Sad but true. At the moment, maps are way too small to have people riding on tanks without getting shot the moment they're in sight. At least with an APC you have a little bit of cover to shield yourself from all the bullets.

Yes, but really it would make a lot of usage because eventhough we don't have APC's by riding tanks we can implement the mechanic in an useful way.

i dont think it would be that hard to implement riding on tanks. would be quite fun on some maps. i could see commissars house being hilarious, as you could pack 5-6 ivans on the back of a t34, and dump them in D

While I agree most maps are too small to be of much benefit, it would add a twist to strategy. Bridges for example as well, drive right up to the trenches. And teleporting would be fine IMO, let's just get on with it.

You could probably put a stack of boxes someplace, climb up onto them, have the tank pull up next to them and then jump/fall onto the tank.
