Personally I use a custom keyboard layout.
I got a german keyboard but i swapped the Y and Z keys to get a qwerty instead of qwertz keyboard. However in break blocks it seems to go back to the default german setup. (this is not an alt + shift issue as I don't have a german keyboard layout at all in the language options).

Hrmm, I wonder if it's a situation of needing to support some language keyboard system in Windows. Are there other games that struggle with this?

Don't know any other game that has this most seem to use whatever input windows is set at and use exactly that.

Huh. Well, I've gotta be honest, I'm not sure if I'll be able to figure this out and correct it anytime soon. Maybe if the game takes off and does as well as we think it will, we'll be able to devote some time to tracking this one down.
