I also vote for a change of the interior to a brighter painted interior to match realism.
it gave the appearance of a more lit area, and also helped negate the feeling of being in a small enclosed area.
also I'd like to mention that arcade, simulation, and realism are 3 completely differently things.
on a side note
arcade and realism are the only ones that are competing which eachother.
you can simulate a arcade world. you can simulate a realistic world. the word simulation seems for some reason be tied to realism when it should not be. for example Battleground Europe is a Simulation of a "what if" scenario. what if the french were never defeated and americans largely did lend lease with just them. I know some BGE players will disagree but I played BGE from 2008 to the 26th of august just last month and this is what the game overall represents.
RO2 is in my opinion best described as a "relaxed realism" game. it is not a full arcade game, nor is it fully realistic, but between the 2 its more towards realism.
