Default Resident Evil and Silent Hill Soundtracks for Killing Floor

Hey folks,

I'm totally new to these forums, but have been a long-time KF player. LOVE the game!

About the only thing I've never gushed over is the soundtrack (if you're reading this zYnthetic, I apologize! But the metal theme just isn't for me).

Anyway, I'm a huge fan of the earlier Silent Hill and Resident Evil games. To mix things up a bit while playing KF, I've created two soundtracks with tunes pulled from Silent Hill 1, 2, 3, and 4 in the SH soundtrack zip file and Resident Evil 1, 2, and 4 in the RE soundtrack zip file.

If you want, give them a shot! I've included a spreadsheet (xlsx file) in the Resdient Evil soundtrack zip file to help you sort out which songs are used during which events. Well, at least to the best of my knowledge from playing the game so much, testing, etc.

Silent Hill Soundtrack for KF: http://www.mediafire.com/?trno9a7gjrzjxzw
Resident Evil Soundtrack for KF: http://www.mediafire.com/?p4eu3s4hd4sd9y5

Enjoy!

P.S. Especially for the SH soundtrack, you'll want your in-game volume cranked all the way up. I promise there are no lame shock sound effects in there or anything to startle (and troll) you. It's just that most, if not all, of the Silent Hill recordings were recorded/ripped at super low volume and I was too lazy to normalize all the files.

Hi,

I'm a big fan of the two game series and the SH film (the RS films sucked) and the soundtracks reallly are greate but I think you (or somebody else) could get problems when playing them in a KF map.

Swift had to delete the SH musik in his map because of some copyright issue.
I thought it would be fair to inform you .

Interesting...thanks for pointing that out!

Just to be clear, it is possible to replace music .ogg files on your local machine without getting into trouble (how will anyone know if you're replacing the music with, I don't know, Metallica songs or whatever in KF?). However, packing Silent Hill music files in with your map so that they're played whenever the map is played on a server could be a copyright violation. So, using these oggs I've posted shouldn't be violating any laws in the way Swift's situation had.

If I get contacted by Mediafire in any way, though, I definitely will pull the files down. I don't want to cause trouble; I only want to give fans of Resident Evil and Silent Hill a nice, refreshing take on playing KF.

BTW, I completely agree about the RE movies. I honestly wasn't a fan of the Silent Hill movie either, for what it's worth.

Default omg really?

Bowserkoopa,

I would have never thought about putting music from the Resident Evil games into KF. I am a super mega huge fan of the BIOhazard series ever since the first game, and this idea of yours was awesome.

I really like your choices of the tracks you chose to play along with their associated phases, they blend well. In fact, I'm surprised at how well the 2 actually do go together. Great job !

Out of curiosity, why did you not use any music from RE3:Nemesis ?

This is a great contribution. Personally I don't overly care for the default KF music. Well I don't mind it and am certainly used to it, but always loved RE music. It is softer and more haunting which kind of changes the mood of the game but not in a way I'm complaining about. Since I made the Resident Evil 1 Map I thought I'd tell people about this thread on there too - a LOT of people have asked me about music over the years.

no to much of work. it was already done. im sure some people still got it on their hdd. and if i rename the song to 'whatever' i would have to use the ingame music player. thats not an option. then i rather use winamp (with forward/backward shortcuts.)

but thanks anway.
