Critical Error Crash (Critical: IDirect3DVertexBuffer9::Lock failed(88760870))

I am running:
Phenom II X6 1090T
8gb Ram
NVIDIA GTX 260 (Latest drivers)
Win7 64-bit Ultimate

Tried all different settings and past "fixes" mentioned in other threads about this problem. My card does not overheat as it's current peak reported is 57c and that is from playing Bulletstorm earlier, not KF. I think my temp was about 43c when I crashed, which is a normal temp under load. I don't crash in any other games that I play so I am confident my system is stable. It seems it has been plaguing tripwire games for a while. Is it just poor coding? (Must be according to this log, so many loose ends)

Turned everything to lowest possible setting and didnt crash, set everything back to max and forced drivers to run everything maxed and got this error

and yes, my hard drive has 294GB free space, more than half. Im guessing since KF is a 32bit program it's also limited to less than half my ram, but it shouldn't be using 4gigs. There is a loop running out of control somewhere or KF is missing a line of code or two to free up/reuse space.

Well, now I'm gonna have to fish for ideas...try this.
Go to Killingfloor.exe Steam\steamapps\common\killingfloor\System

Right click it and select properties. Select the compatibility tab at the top.

Check the box for "Disable desktop composition"

Not sure if you tried that, if so...then try this. Drop it back 10mhz at a time and re-test if possible.

The error itself is quite hard to fix..any other games that have been acting up this way, like Unreal Tournament to be specific?

I'm not so sure what could be causing it, maybe the OS, maybe the video card...according to a search, seems to be rare. o_O
