Default Exporting stock static meshes

4 part question:
-Is it possible to export stock static meshes* to 3DS MAX and if so, how?
-If so, can you then edit the poly in 3DS MAX (for instance, removing the leaves from a tree so you're just left with the bare branches)
-Can the "new" model be re-imported to the SDK
-Can the "Combine static mesh" tool be used on the "new" static mesh?

*and if you can export the stock static mesh would you also be able to export and tweak its accompanying texture in photoshop/gimp?

Gildor's Unreal package Extractor works for me. Also check out his other apps and donate if you like them.
