Maybe because it's a stalemate map (or Attacker vs Attacker), this kind of dynamic tends to work better on smaller maps (Barashka is a big map), where the Attacker-must-cap-all-caps dynamic, suits big maps better.

I do like Barashka, but love for a particular map grows as you play it, and i haven't had the chance to play it much either

It could be improved for sure, but I like it and wish it was in more rotations as well. If tanks are such a problem, turn them off maybe?

I don't know....

Any thoughts?
Major performance issues, too many tanks (RO1 version was bigger in relation to the squaresize, which could harbor more tanks), only 1 type of tanks, no halftracks.
Its a great map in potential, with tweaking.

haha yup!

i like the map, but lack of transport hampers it somewhat. the old days were fun when youd load up the sdkfz with 7 guys and speed like mad max to the peninsula (my favourite cap dunno why). also Panzer Fausts.... AT rifles are a bit pants and its a death run trying to get those AT nades to the tank.

but ill always play it if it comes up, infact ill play all new/custom maps with joy. even with faults they so much better than the same same stock maps over and over and over. and so what if it takes a few minutes to download your sat on your *** playing a game its not like you have anywhere to be, go make a brew and look at the daylight/stars abit while waiting

As for Barashka, I'm not a fan just because anything wide open + tanks means infantry play is just a chore.
I never understood this thought with big maps, playing infantry on this map is amazing, and I love fighting for B while tanks are around it and there is infantry scattered around and it feels like a huge battle. Sneaking around through under the bridge to B, then moving from one side to the other killing infantry along the way then finally taking out a tank or 2 that are destroying your team is an amazing thing to do.

Infantry play is only a chore on these maps if you want some instant action where you just need to move a few feet and you are getting shot at, hell to even reach anything in Barashka doesn't take a long time, very short walks really.

Nobody noticed?
In Ro1 Barashka was winter what leads us to less vegetation + higher shores of the river what leads us to more distant fight = better defend = stalemate -> more flankings -> less cap overwhelming -> more team communication.

Just my opinion

And RO2 maps are not smaller at all.
Remembering beautiful Zhitomir, Krasny Oktiabyr.
The gameplay in RO2 feels different and last time I played RO1 again, what felt like I lost all skills

But first in RO2 Barashka, I tried the PAK....without result....
....wish more content for RO2, new maps like Bridges of Druzhina (veeery beautiful, really sensefull combined arms

I agree with the OP here , This map does not seem to be running much .I think its a very good map have some good tank battles on this and its the kind of map the community was wanting.Instead i seem to end up playing commissioners house 3 times in a night .

Why are lots of server admins not putting it up???..Makes no sense the community on here keeps crying for more vehicles and yet the best tank map in the game hardly ever gets played.

I like the map a lot. But the key to winning seems to be early possession of the bridge. The side thaat manages to seize it can make it hellish for the opposing team. It's a real challenge. I don't know why folks don't play it more.

Hopefully TWI comes out with some tweaks to the map (time, objects tanks get stuck on etc) when they do put out another update. I really do think it has the possibility to be one of their best ROHOS maps.

Barashka
The problem with Barashka is it just so unbalanced
I checked, the germans spawn 50m closer to the first 2 caps
So they always cap A & B first , moving their sprawns almost to the last cap
If you played this maps on a german team that knows what they doing it over in less than 10 mins

I love the vast expanses of space on this map. It's a shame it doesn't get played more often.

Hang on.... you do realize that RO1 had halftracks and way more tanks, don't you? Besides of that, it was always a crappy map.
