Audio Issue

Earlier tonight I was enjoying some RO2 when after the server changed maps my speakers made clicking sounds as if they had blown out. I heard no sound. I've had my speakers for six years so I figured that they ought to die by now after intense use.

I would eventually figure out that it was actually not my speakers, but RO2 itself. I've encountered this issue twice tonight where after a server changes maps and I load the map and join the server that audio for RO2 stops working. When I disconnected I heard these clicking sounds again when I hit disconnect , exit game, and then confirmed that I wanted to exit the game. This is the first time I have ever experienced this in one of my video games, so it either has to be the game itself and or the new drivers I installed. I never had this in the beta.

Here are my basic specs :

E8500 @ 3.8ghz
560ti with latest drivers ( non beta )
nforce 780i mobo w/ onboard audio, no soundcard.

And I believe that the 560 ti driver I installed came with an audio driver.

Anyone having this issue?

Me as well. Was looking for a thread like this, before I made my own.

I have the exact same issues as you, with the clicking noise, then no sound at all until I exit the game. This is on my PC.

I am not sure if this is related or not, but when I was trying the game out on my laptop, in the middle of the single player tutorial, a similar thing occurred, but instead the sound became garbled and distorted and continued even when I exited the game, until I restarted my laptop.

Same problem here, with a little difference.

When the clicking noise starts (after 30 sec - 2 min gameplay time) I MUST exit the game and restart win 7 in order to avoid a blue screen..

I have several games installed on my pc (Deus Ex, Witcher2, Warhammer 40k Space Marine are the most recent) but none of them give me any issue.

Never had a bsod in 8 months. Untill they patched this game 2 days ago..

Today's patch isn't working for me.. same problem as yesterday..

PC specs are useless given that the only problem here is the game, but.. :

intel i7 950
6gb ram
asus rampage III gene
nvidia gtx 590
Creative X-fi fatal1ty gamer edition

all drivers are up to date..

Same problem here. Strange "popping" sounds, then no sound at all.
I noticed my sound channels setting was switched back from 64 to 32 when this happened.

Yea this only happens to me when the server loads a new map and we're playing on a different map.

It started with recent patch. Happens for a lot of people, since when I asked "I lost my sound just now, how do I fix it?" I've got tons of replies with people confused just as I was.
Workaround? Don't play the game, or pretend your are a deaf soldier on a war...

It also happens to me on occasion. I get it on map changes, and I get the popping too.

Using an EVGA 680isli mobo and the most recent realtek drivers for it.

2gb ram
C2D e6600
GTX260
win7 x32

Happened to me for the first time when map changed,got some loop sound (pump) first and then voice was gone.

it seems like more of a patch issue i get it quite allot, basically meaning i can only play one game and then i have to exit out of the server before the new map loads, im hoping trip will get this fixed soon cause its rather rage inducing specially when u get shot and are just dumb founded by what happened

Happened to me aswell, but right in the middle of a game, speakers started crackling and sound lagging like they were breaking down, then it all went silent. Sound worked fine after shutting down RO2.

Same as OP, when I play my first round It seems all fine, on the next map my sound cuts out, I don't hear anything at all and everything is muted until i exit RO2.

yeah same here, join a game fine, new map loads, no sound apart from occasional clicking sounds. thought my headset had finally gone. left game went on youtube sound is fine. went back into a game, play it fine, new map clicking and no sound.
