Default Is RO2 Dead?

I was just looking through my steam library when I saw RO2, I played it loads when it first came out and absolutely loved it, but due to drops in my internet speed I was not able to download the updates and play the game. Now my internet is back at its normal speed is RO2 worth coming back to? Are there many people still playing or is it dead?

its not dead by a long shot. depending on the times you play you should be able to find at least 6 servers that are at least 70% full.

and with new maps coming out, and new content soon(ish((in the future at least)) itll only improve.

heres a tank!

Depends on your definition of ''dead''.
Depends on what mode you refer to.

But yes, people as a whole are still playing the game and there is more than enough people to consider the game as 'alive'.

it seems to be still be clinging onto the life preservers. all the new mod maps are great and we're testing a beta map from TWI. i can't figure out why more servers aren't running mod maps for the life of me. maybe if TWI forced them to be installed, instead of just whitelisting/approving them?

do yourself a favor. download the game and get all the latest versions of the mod maps while you're at it!

Community maps do not need to be whitelisted.

Define "many people" and "dead" [game]. I think numbers are fair enough for tactical oriented hardcore shooter that isn't popular in minds of players (like ARMA is now). Perception varies from man to man so it doesn't really matter what people tell you because you might feel different when you'll see it with your own eyes.

There are about 300-1,000 players at any given time. Maybe 3-6 64 player servers are usually full or nearly full.

It's not a popular game, but if you want to play a full game any time, it's there.

ok. i just assumed that you putting them on TWI's redirect meant they were "whitelisted/approved". sorry for having to guess, but the lack of knowledge of what's happening with the maps from the mapping contest, is the problem. i hope you guys plan on forcing some of them into the rotation. soon. i was playing with a bunch of longtime players the other night, on two of the older mod maps and was surprised to hear that it was their first time. now granted that first i blame the server owner for not supporing the map modders, but TWI certainly can have even more say in whether players play the fresher maps. any reason the only new map to be included in the game, is made by TWI?
