New Perk and Weapons: Stunner

I don't think you understand the concept here.
Perk names are usually somewhat grounded in reality.

"Stunner" or "Shocker" is a description of what it does more than an actual existing job.

But engineer, which exists, wouldn't fit even though he is closest name for this one. Maybe instead of saying it's wrong - give an idea what would be correct? And actually stunner is an existing word. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stunner_%28weapon%29
Not exactly the thing, but fits the most of what I thought. And the guns such as taser exist, someone who uses them though doesn't have a name. Should we name the perk "nameless" then? Seriously, anyone has any ideas?

EDIT: What about some kind of computer-geek-kind? Those do exist and it might actually work. Just to name it... ehh...

Okay, shocker is good name for it too. And Taser idea is already there. And shotgun thing - it wouldn't fit as there is already shotgun perk. but thanks for ideas :)

EDIT: I just put on the first post the name is Stunner/Shocker so ppl will know there r 2 names discussed for him ^^

I fail to see how an XREP launcher can be equated with a shotgun perk, considering it has neither penetration capability, or damage capability.

SImply: the gun is a shotgun. Maybe the bullets different, but gun is still a shotgun. Though if you change this idea a little bit maybe you'll make something good enough ;) Actually the idea isn't that bad if you change it a little. Damage, bullets, looks of gun maybe... the idea is to not make a gun which won't be used, for example don't make something for commando what's between bullpup and AK47 cuz ppl will choose only Bullpup or/and AK47, especially if it has the same weight. It has to be unique among other perk's guns. XREP seems to be nothing different than Taser or the Stun-Gun. Pretty much same concept in damage, speed etc I think. Maybe if you made it a really unique thing or something on alt-fire really differing from taser and stun-gun and make it between stun-gun and taser, it'd make some sense. Keep thinking on this, though much more needed to think about now is the name of perk. It seems people aren't excited over the name and seems to... be not right. Any ideas?

I fail to see how an XREP projectile can be compared to a taser or a stun gun, both of which have an effective range of less than 30 feet.

Oh! I didn't think of the range! Do they really have this range problems!? Okay, so now I gotta agree, your idea is good... except it makes me feeling it'll work like a remake of Xbow. One powerfull shot working on a very long range.

id prefer those weapons added to the zerker, as they are low ranged: stunner batton, taser pistol...

maybe, slugs for the shotgun, so they have this penetration function, and stuns when hitting chest couple of times o the head... i dont mean rubber slugs, metal slugs instead.

mmmm why would you think this perk is needed? or why u say it would be fun to play with? i just want to hear this xD im not trolling... for example, other perks stun anyways: ss - xbow and hc stuns minor zeds, firebug makes them crazy, demo makes them pause a sec, cmdo does some stunning too...

Tasers and stun batons are next to useless in this game tbh. Hell, Beserker can already stun scrakesAND damage them at the same time anyway, so that'll do me.

It's a pass from me.

Flame-thrower is meant to be low ranged, too. Somehow totally different perk owns this flamethrower. And that's the idea.

Sounds like a plan. But main idea is to stun enemies while team-mates finnish them off. Second part of the plan is to slow down enemies. And yes, those are weak weapons as for killing, but you CAN kill with them if you use them on clots :p
The fun part is - STUNNING! Not like with Xbow or Katana, but with a weapon which REALLY is meant to stun.

And I think I found good names for this perk. What about Engineer or Technician?

We've been getting on just fine without demolition perk too. And reason why they didn't add stunner is - they didn't have this idea, obviously. Demolition, Mac-10 Scrake and Husk didn't exist before, too.

Doesn't the "on fire" behavior make the firebug a "stunner" already?
Not really. And even if, NOT the same way. Firebug rages FPs with it, and logically Stunner would stop his rage as he'd electro-shock him and battery would sure react, logically, wouldn't it?

I answered same question to three different people obviously. Or someone asked same question three times. I am not sure now. But the point is - the question "why should new perk be added" is as pointless as question "why should Killing Floor get updated?" Simply to add more fun and variousity.

Everyone has kinda given up on getting another perk into the game at this point anyway.
We're beta testing what might very well be the last patch of this game if you haven't noticed.
