Huge log files

Just checked the size of my log files::\Users\your name\Documents\My Games\RedOrchestra2\ROGame\Logs

One was 1.89gb and another was 1.10gb with a couple of 0.5gb and a lot more smaller ones, i deleted the larger ones to free up some space.
I also changed this from 3 to 1

[LogFiles]
PurgeLogsDays=1

C:\Users\your name\Documents\My Games\RedOrchestra2\ROGame\Config\ROEngine

Empty them from the recycle bin as well.

Interesting. If the game is emitting a lot of debug messages into a log file during play, it could significantly affect framerate, because that kind of thing typically isn't done very efficiently.

Your log files really shouldn't become that huge, usually they are between 5-10MB after a couple hour session for me.

What kind of messages are the most of in the log files?

I'd try deleting ROEngine.ini - there might be some debug settings left over from the beta there.

just checked mine, all of them took like 7mb

Mine about 54 mb.

I'd try deleting ROEngine.ini - there might be some debug settings left over from the beta there.

There are hundreds of these:

I just played for nearly 3hrs. and the launch file is already 660793kb so big that notepad has crashed trying to open it.

If the log file only ever grows, and the game never deletes it (or never deletes old log files), then that's something to be concerned about, if only because eventually it will fill all available space.

If you're getting a few MB of logs over a session of a few hours, it's nothing to be worried about.

The America's Army 3 team optimized the game a lot by reducing Unreal Engine logging. RO2 obviously needs to do the same optimization trick.
