it is free but very powerfull. Lacks some of the better tools in 3Ds max but has a lot of new ones that make up for it.

i suggest you give it a try.

oh, and it has great fluid simulation capabilities
i downloaded belender but have no idead how to use it, it be very helpful if you could give me the basics.

It takes a lot of work, man.

http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Blender_3D:_Noob_to_Pro you can start here, and it won't be easy right off the bat. Even when you know how to do everything in Blender, it still takes a lot of practise like with drawing, playing an instrument, getting good at a game, learning fighting techniques, etc.

right off the bat, its a tough program to learn. most of the commands and actions are weirdly mapped (select button is RMB)

it has tons of options and tools but many are poorly documented.

for starters, get blender 2.56a. blender changed a great deal between 2.4x y 2.5x so most tutorials for 2.4x are not usefull with 2.5x.

watch many tutorials, specially for beginners.

zero, on your sig, did you use splines or primitive shapes? (or both?)

what is the best process to use when modeling weapons?
Mostly primitive shapes, I really never use splines other then on high poly stuff. Almost everything on that Sig was created using a single plane, I get it into the shape of the object I want to create by adding verts and extruding.
