Commando in the 11th wave.

the health thing is truly invaluable, yes, but what i find with the husk gun is that you can interrupt the pats healing if you land a headshot, difficult but possible. you may need backup too for it to work, but everyone can see the pat when he is on fire and since the husk gun doesnt ASFIOAJGMIJOHIJEHO in everyones way, preventing decent aim, the sharps can get a good estimate on his head position.

and I bet that flamer is more powerfull than bulpup :p
Actually the bullpup is better than the flamer because it is very easy to get headshots (flamer cannot get headshots, period) and has higher DPS. I actually made a few mistakes on my earlier post about DPS. Here is a complete list:

Bullpup-
1950 (full mag damage) / 5 (time to fire clip [in seconds]) + 1.2805 (reload [in seconds]) = 390 (before reload) or 310.48 (after reload)

AK47 -
2531.25 / 4.0875 + 1.95 = 619.266 or 419.25

SCAR-
2437.5 / 2.4 + 1.9275 = 1015.625 or 563.2

AA12-
4800 / 4 + 3.133 = 1200 or 672.92

M32-
3360 / 1.98 + 9.804 = 1696.9696 or 285.13

Flamethrower-
3072 / 11.2 + 2.898 = 274.285 or 217.9

All calculation are based on level 6 perks.

Flamethrowers are bad against the patriarch, and firebug ruins you grenades effectiveness against the patriarch. While I have not tested the Husk Cannon against the Patriarch, I think the prohibitive charge time would make it worthless since you cannot carry both Husk and Flamer at the same time and MAC10 wouldn't be worthwhile.

Why even consider DPS on a big mob being hit by DoT
What? Why wouldn't you consider damage per second on a big mob being hit by damage over time? The damage per second for any weapon far outclasses the damage caused by burn from the flamethrower. DoT is nice for lots of slow and/or weak specs, but irrelevant for tougher ones (that's why crisp effects where added). Because of the huge amount of health the Patty has and the damage he can deal, as well as his speed and ability to heal, weapons that can maximize quick damage potential tend to be better. There are a few other factors to consider and using poor weapons doesn't make it impossible, but the faster you deal damage, the less time the Patriarch has to hit you.
