I was talking with Sphaeling, about a device set next to the radio the commander could activate, which would call in a strike on specific spots depending on which objective was active. I'm not sure adding it to the radio would be possible without a mod.

The problem would be restricting it to just the commander. Maybe it can be done, I don't know, too NooB.

I noticed that there is a node which can be found under Kismet>Actions>Misc>Spawn Artillery. I tested it in a level, and it does the animations, sounds, and deaths of normal artillery perfectly well. Is there some reason I should do it the more complicated way as discussed here, rather than using this node?

No. The spawn artillery action is much more superior in terms of randomly placing the artillery.

If you want triggered artillery in certain areas then the method in this thread would work better. Check the kismet for Grain Elevator and you will notice that you can trigger an artillery hit when you walk by certain walls.
