[Game] Syndicate [2012]

Never played the original Syndicate game so I'm not gonna jump on the "OMG why did they make it a FPS?" train. Starbreeze studios(The Darkness, Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay) is a competent studio so I'm sure they'll deliver something worthwhile. From the description in the link above I'd say it sounds a bit like Deus Ex except without/with less RPG elements. Sci-Fi is always good. Screenshots are kinda hard to judge because they're so small and don't really show a lot.

I loved the original syndicate back in it's time, and I loved syndicate wars.

Sadly, the tactics genre is dying at the moment. Hopefully JA Back in Action can kickstart it again.

Oh, what fond memories of both the original and Syndicate Wars does this bring back! Never played the American Wars, or what was the name of that add-on.

I don't know what to think of this offering, however. We'll wait and see, but in our saturated market of today, first-person-shooterisation gives off a whiff of piggy-backing any-Sci-Fi-shooter onto the cult following the classic got. We'll wait and see. Or bleed.

I knew this was going to be the fate of Syndicate when I heard EA was rebooting it shortly after the news of Xcom broke.

I just didn't realize it would be so thoroughly cliched.

God I'm getting old.Bloody kids nowadays have not played any "proper" games.In fact i played this on my Amiga that's how old it and I am.I bet you haven't played Dune II either.

I can't really say I did either. Even in its day it was muddled and basic and a little confusing. But the setting was intriguing as was the premise of the game: 4 cyborg assassins you could control and upgrade. What would it be like today.....?

I loved Syndicate on the Amiga, especially it's cyberpunk-esque style and the choice to do missions they way you wanted. Although it was frustrating at times such as going into buildings to kill a target was more miss than hit and the cars had a tendency to derp.

I also have the SNES version, which wasn't good

i think i touched syndicate once or twice but never gave it a real chance. This was way after release as well. Around 1999 or something maybe. Around the same time i discovered x-com and that grabbed me instead...

but still... i would like to see a remake and not a generic fps remake.
