New achievements suggestions

We all know the achievements that can be unlocked in RO:OST 41-45 and they could be further expanded in the universe of the brutal fighting that took place in Stalingrad.

The battles in Stalingrad were not for the weak or squeamish and a great deal of atrocities and brutal and callous behaviour took place and that could be translated in RO:HOS by unlocking "achievements", if one could call them that:confused:, by performing atrocities against the enemy or own side.
The term "achievement" in this sense should probably be replaced with "atrocities" instead in order to show the non-heroic nature of the deed.

Examples of unlocking "atrocities"

If one choose to surrender x number of times to the enemy instead of dying for your country you unlock a new "achievement": "Coward/traitor to the father/motherland - bronze".

Unlock "Merciless - bronze" by killing x prisoners and so forth,

"Angel of death - bronze" unlocked by giving a coup de grace against x numbers of wounded soldiers, both own and enemy.

"Judge Jury and Executioner - bronze" unlocked by, as an officer or squad leader, the killing x number of own soldiers running away from the objective/battle or refusing to follow orders given from the order menu - somehow the officer/Squad leader must be able to distinguish those who flee or don't follow orders from those who fight as they are supposed to or otherwise it will just be an ordinary team kill without any kind of justifiction.

The purpose of these "achievements" is to not unlock them and thus to seperate the true heroes of Stalingrad who fights heroicly and honorably from those who fight brutally, mercilessly and without honor to win the battle at all costs.

people will always try to unlock all achievements and will do their utmost best to do whatever it takes to get those achievements.

For that reason rather than seeing who are truly glorious bastards, most people will do those stuff on purpose. Beside any good intentions if it were implented it would get a lot of media backfire as well.

Now simply not giving out some achievements if someone killed too many teammates or did too many bad things is a different matter. Although people change so if anything those stats should be dynamic ones. Like TK ratio or something.

i actually like this one lol. the other "atrocities"......don't really think the devs will want to encourage such things considering atrocities have a pretty negative view as opposed to acheivements lol.

but yeah, SL can shoot campers not in the cap zone or people retreating. oh, the best would be if your team is out of reinforcements, the SL can auto kill all the last 2 people holding out of if somebody is AFK......i'd give a SL 10points for eliminating that last guy AFK in spawn!!

only problem is, people will see it as TKs and that would not go over well :D

What would be interesting, is to not have getting atrocities be a thing one wants, but a thing one wants to avoid. Say, too many unforgiven TKs, or too many civilians (should they be in the game) are killed, then your username is 'awarded' that atrocity and it will show up next to your name online forever, so players around you can be warned and thus treat you. It'd be sort of interesting to see a player with the 'turncoat' atrocity next to their name join a game and everyone on that team instantly distrusts him.

Would it be possible to be awarded medals that could be seen on your character models or in your profile that way you could show what you have achived, eg. closecombat clasp, Iron cross 1st class, tank assult, wound badge that type of thing then you could get upgraded depending on the amount of times you achive these. My guess is probably not but anyway worth a mention.

im not sure you should encourage TK'ing by giving achievements to commanders for them. they could just randomly execute people, how would the game know if they are retreating. and get a medal for it on top.

same for the surrender thing, if it's implemented then there would need to be a damn good reason for players to surrender. if on top you get called a coward, and the enemy gets a medal for executing you, then nobody will be stupid enough to surrender lol.
think positive! give an achievement for taking prisoners alive "self controll achievement" or an achievent that gives surrendering a nicer image "cold blood achievement" for daring to surrender.

Name it "Mother's rejoice" referring to the sigh of relief the mother of the soldier would take after hearing her boy is safe in a POW camp, well sort of safe given it is the Ostfront afterall, and what kind of son dont want to make his mother happy by simply surviving a war? that would make it a positive action to surrender from the players point of view of course.
