First we need evidence that there was even a battle at Stalingrad, and not just a bunch of coincidentally placed monuments and historical accounts. :p

Well, back in late '42 the production of Stalingrad was just barely starting, with a mere 150 buildings completed.
Highly unlikely that the City itself would have been dropped into the Kessel. :p

The first large scale field trials of the Stalingrad brothels took place in April '43, so nearly half a year after the Battle took place. :D

Is the main thread on it. But really, don't

Short version if you can't be bothered to go through 20 pages.
It's not an STG44, it's an Mkb42.
There is no solid or conclusive evidence that this weapon was in Stalingrad - or that it wasn't.
It's inclusion is based around the fact that the weapon did exist at least in small production numbers, and it represents an elite class weapon so will not be commonplace.
It's in the game. It's not going anywhere.
