December the 6th (or the evening of the 5th) would be better to honour Saint Nicholas, or said in Dutch Sint Nicolaas/Sinterklaas (Pronounce Santa Claus).
Especially since the Catholic Church removed Nicholas from being a saint. So now its only Claus and not Santa any more. (Kind of weird that due to western pop culture someone gets removed from being a saint..)
