Default Tactical Display

The idea of the tactical display is pretty good I think. I think though, that it could use some improvement.

.1 Would be nice if it could be turned on or off by server admins
.2 Make everything on it client side so everything can be manipulated on it
.3 Not have it pop up every time you respawn/capture w/out the player choosing
.4 Make it so the capzone emblems are more transparent the further away you are from them. Also depeding on how many objects you are looking through to see the emblems.
.5 Make the names of players not be so large- then again that would probably be point 2

I know there is more that I would like to add or would be a good suggestion so what do you guys think could improve the tactical display?

I love the tactical map its one of the best features over the original game.It keeps me from looking at my map.Gives me situational awareness of the status of the cap zones. It help get peoples butt in the cap zone which was a problem on Ost. Some people never found certain cap zones the 2d map was deceiving.

Number one rule of war is know the ground you fought on the soldiers in Stalingrad had the knowledge. While a tactical display isn't realistic per say its a great way to reflect battlefield knowledge the soldiers did have.

If I could change anything I would have it be faded at long range and not in the zone.Or have capping objectives auto show without the tactical display being used.Having a lighter version that doesn't show the numbers in the zone would be cool too for CD.Either way its a great feature even if it never changes.

That and the rifle reloading is some of the features that makes it difficult for me to play Ost again.

I only agree with #3 and #4, those are actually useful. The rest, meh.

This has been addressed before. TWI has told us that these HUD (client side) additions are hard to do with the RO2 engine, and would take a while. So, they're holding off on it for a while, saying it's not a priority.

An easy fix I would like to see is a font size slider, like in Ostfront. That doesn't sound like it would take too long to add to the game.

A quick question; How long would it take to add the ol' font size slider, TWI?

The ability to fix every item on the list can be achieved with the console command in the link above, except customizing the HUD components.
