More and more often I get annoyed when a Commander force respawns me, because I was simply not quick enough to choose my preferred spawn point when I died.
I know commanders have no way of knowing if we are ready or not, but it seems the function was for getting a quick burst of reinforcements to the battle - but if they are in the wrong place, then it's wasted and even counter-productive. A lot of times I want to respawn at point 2, but the commander does it and I end up at point 1, when I know 2 needed my presence much more. Disable it or make it opt-in! |

i see no reason to do either.. yes its annoying when you end up at a spawn you didnt want. but its hardly a game breaking event.
and it is one of the better little skills, which allows you to get men into a point when they needed and if it was opt in either it would take so long for people to opt in/out.. or more people would opt out making it a useless skill. its there to help the team, if the commander could chose which point he wants to force spawn at it would be nice, but then people would complain he chose a point they didnt like. do no it doesnt need any improvement |

I can't count the number of times that Force Respawn has literally saved my team. When used correctly it's an absolutely brilliant feature.

Well, just respawn players that already clicked on "ready" and maybe let it last some seconds so you can click ready quickly and respawn fast too.

[read in comisar's voice] Yes, if your commander forces respawn, it is an emergency! Don't ask questions, FORWARD! Urrrrrraaaah! XD
I agree, keep it as-is. |

One thing I should mention about force respawn, some of the time but not all of the time I get a glitch, where I have been respawned but can only see my SL's POV (or 3rd person, pending on the settings). My character is alive somewhere on the map, and can still fire his weapons. Has anybody else had this happen to them? Its a minor annoyance, except when I get it into my head that suicide via grenade is a good idea and accidentally take out a friendly or two (who I of course cant see.)

I personally think it shouldnt be removed but it seems to me, that the best thing would be to fix it a bit maybe.
Idea 1: The spawn is the one youve chosen before (if you havent spawned in that moment yet) Idea 2: the commander can choose it (maybe can an extra button added, so he can choose the regular teamspawn and another button where the map is quickly shown and he can decide where directly) ..... |

Concerning the topic, I personally don't have much of a problem with force respawning. Yes it can be annoying when I get forced into a spawn that I didn't want, but generally that should only happen to a player or two at most and I think that the potential benefits of a well-used force respawn outweigh this factor. Perhaps it could be modified with the previous suggestion to only respawn ready players? On a somewhat related note, I was recently told in-game that force respawning uses extra tickets, but I have not observed this to be the case in my time as commander. Can anyone verify this?

Idea 2 would annoy lots of players like the OP who had other plans. Also I don't think there are 32 spawn-point actors per spawn point. I liked someone's suggestion of a delay. To add to that: Players who were in the queue when the Force was pressed could be given 2 seconds to choose their spawn location. Probably quite low-priority for TWI though. |
