I am trying to ceate a Bridge that can be damaged/destroyed with Tank HE shells and arty, I have created a static mesh and given it a collision, used the freacture tool and sliced saved the package and placed it in the map, set the destruction type in properties and done a lighting build, so far so good BUT, no matter what I try it wont damage or destroy.
I followed the instruction given in the Unreal vidio tutorials to the letter all the settings are the same but it wont work! I have also tried it on a simple stone pillar mesh from a standard map still the same. Any ideas folks? |

I tried it out once with a wooden bridge from apartments and it worked but it wasn't really what I needed.
I'll have a look at this. EDIT: I checked it out now. It works for me. How do you create the fractured meshes? Last edited by Blitzk.-Bob; 10-12-2012 at 10:23 AM. |

I use the Static Mesh editor in the SDK.
I create a collision then fracture to 50 parts, slice and save. I have tried it with support chunks and without. |

Been some time but I am re-visiting this feature.
As posted I am trying to create a destructible Bridge, I did get one to work after trying all sorts of different settings but guess what as soon as I saved the dam editor crashed and science then I have not been able to get one to work at all! (Have been using the new bridge from Barashka but also tried it on a simple rectangular mesh as well). I have read all sorts of tutorials, watched various YouTube vids and followed instructions to the letter but no joy! Has anyone done this yet? If so could they post a short run down of what they did? Thanks |
