Top Community Maps

Ooh, well personally I can't think of my favourite maps. (I can't really think of a favourite anything, to be honest) but I'd say the maps that have the potential to be the best would be The Hive, Candlesmoke and some others like it and I'm sure many would agree that these really stand out.

It's mostly due to the "story" style gameplay that is pulled off very well despite being made using dodgy workarounds over wave-based gameplay. What's more is that the two maps work in different ways. The Hive is pretty much objective-based and uses plenty of triggers whilst Candlesmoke uses progressive arena-to-arena movement, but compared to the way the Hive is built, it's not "dodgy" at all. I can't decide what I enjoy the most but really, since they're sort of cheating the wavebased play, I don't think they can be sat with the maps that actually do follow the wave-based style.

PS:

If there's any progressive style maps that I've missed, could anyone PM me for the download links, please? I'd really appreciate it! :)

Well, I found this thread (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1008723) a while ago, looking for the most enjoyable community maps. I believe I found gold; 1. The long dark road 2. Crystal-lake 3. Corner Market and 4. Crag. You can find the download links for those maps and some other great ones too, including the mission based maps, in the thread.

Now for the pictures:

Here are 5 maps that I think fit the current KF map selection really well.
Note that they are all already whitelisted and not in order of preference :

The Long Dark Road :

(are a bit outdated compared to the whitelisted version, but still give it credit)

Now for this last one I am going to suggest a map that stylistically differs a lot from the regular KF maps. But with the recent addition of KF-Aperture, I am thinking this gorgeous map could be a great addition , note it is also whitelisted :

Chthon:

Definately
1. Sector13 - Simply awesome visuals
2. Harbor - Looks amazing and the specimens breaking out of the containers was pretty unique.
3. Grimpen - The last time I checked the fixed version got whitelisted tho so Im not sure if the author made a fixed version?
4. The Long Dark Road - One of my earliest favourites
5. Corner Market - Looks good, plays good.

Hospital Horrors of course but that's already in the game. So here's 5 more I'd like to see in the retail build.

1. Grimpen - great map, made crap pcs using hairdryers as GPUs cry tears of emo.
2. The Long Dark Road - Super map, and the enlarged version really works. Plus I had a little input here and there like the Alamo style hold out in the compound with the 2 storey house. We made the windows so you could shoot out in true alamo style while holding the doors welded. That's something I like doing... but watch your back....
3. Corner Market - Looks good, plays good. Agree with Hate. It's simple, fun and requires a team to cover 4 directions so it really separates the men from the boys.

4. Trailofdarkwoodsfinal alone in the woods is just more scary
. This is still one of my favourites even though the blasted traders smoke is totally borked. Still it's funny watching lemons run off in the opposite direction only to see them come charging back with 10 seconds of the trader to spare. Needs a patch up / optimize etc.

5. Mountainpassnight - it's just much more scary. Alone in the woods.

The maps that should be added are:

Grimpen
Swamp
CornerMarket

Harbour or LongDarkRoad(Havent played it yet)

You can find the links in the previous posts,i posted one for grimpen too

easily Harbour over longdarkroad; road is rather dull, at least thats my personal view :p
