3D & Animation 10 points question?

If you are using 3dsMax I suggest that you use the Arch&desing material and a sunlight as lightsource and render it out with MentalRay. You can either use the "special effect" of Arch&design material to get the ambient occlusion or you can, for example, use composite map in the diffuse channel, and in that composite node you put one layer with the diffuse color (some light grey or what ever you color you want it to have) and on top of that put a layer with ambient occlusion node and set in on multiply blending mode (this way you get more power on the look of the AO).

This works also with the standard material.

If you're not using 3dsMax the AO is pretty much the same thing in every other software too.

@Susi I'd say that it is a finnish uniform.. the knife gives it away ;)

How did you end up doing it? using splines or just half cylinders?

Well i use edit poly (poly modelling) have tried spline
and nurbs modelling many times. But i allways get
frustrated when i try to do something with them.

Usually i make models from several parts, so ya there
is some cylinders tubes and boxes.

How ever now its done
