1. There are "complex" times, including the fact that some units carry "honorific" names, such as LSS Adolf Hitler. When representing these units and any other "dubious" units (including all SS and NKVD; Partisan and other "volunteer"/"behind-the-lines" units are also included in this list), the management of the clan WILL:
   • Educate all their members publically on the war crimes and atrocities committed by the members of the real life unit, both proven and alleged. Ensure this is carried on your clan website. The 3rd SS Division are a realism unit formed within the game of Red Orchestra 2 Hero's of Stalingrad. We seek to play at a high level inducing rank structure's, communication, marksmanship, tactics, strategy and being apart of a team. We do expect every member to fully follow our rules and enjoy the unit in doing so.

Future Aims

We shall be moving to RO2 depending on if it has kept the realism, scale and unit capability. We may also stay on RO1 if so but we will be putting up a RO2 server within a week of release.

Realism

The 3rd SS base its self on the feeling of realism and that of the 3rd SS division in WW2, since we will be playing RO2 we will be basing our realism feeling around the eastern front and the heroic battles that took place. Along side this we will incorporate real time strategy, tactics and a team based environment. We will also host realism nights on our own server for the public to come get a feel of how we play, we will also let our more junior members lead on some of these nights. This unit will give a real chance for you to learn how to fight as an SS grenadier or tank operator of world war two.

Application and Recruitment Process

We ask all our potential applicants to fill out a simple application on our forums in order to join making sure they fill it in to a top standard. The 3rd SS also do the recruitment process as close to realism as we can without having the more boring bits. We aim to deliver a week long training camp in which recruits will learn basic knowledge on field craft, tactics, strategy, communication, being a team and the 3rd SS order of service. Upon graduation on your final day of training you will be placed into your Abschnitt (Section).

You may also choose to apply for infantry or armored both will consist of different training and types of combat. You will not be able to drive say a Tiger 1 or a Panther straight away but you will need to upgrade and be taught on each before it is available for you. You can also apply for Enlistment or Officer however Officer training will last two weeks longer and your rank status will be Officer Candidate. You will learn leadership skills, navigation, tactical man-overs and basic operation control.

No, I know there was not but there were in Kirsk, Kharkov and Demjansk Pocket. So they did take part in the general eastern front campaign. We hope to make our own history rather than copy theirs.
