Default Feedback List

Hi there,
i've been putting over 100 hours of gameplay in the beta and release, and here's what i came up with so far, hope you like the list....
  1. Weapons
    a) The german weapons seem a lot more powerful. Comparing Mp40 and ppsh, it might be that with some training you can beat a mp40 in CQC, but with 2 _untrained_ players, the mp40 wins. The main reason being its easier to use, has a lower ROF, which leads to more precise shooting at long ranges and more controllable hip-firing.

    b) The MKB is just plain overpowered. On german side on 90% of the maps, the top 3 players regardings kills have a MKB. Its precise, deadly, and has high penetration, autofire, low ROF and good hipfiring capability.

    c) There are way too many assaults or people with assault-type weapons running around. No wonder noone picks a rifle

    d) I also have to mention the click-but-nothing-happens bug, which is quite gamebreaking for a FPS.

    e) When i "unlock" stolen enemy weapons, make the choice at least default to one of my army. Half of german troops spawn with a mosin or svt40 with the weird stats bug. Also: if we can "steal" enemy weapons, why not a mp40 or MKB?

    f) SMGs need a much higher bullet deviation in general.

    g) whats the point in taking a rifle. If a rifle-bullet doesnt one-shot everyone (which they dont), even IF you hit with your first bullet, they are going to spray you. Sure you can counter that with positioning and cover, but a SMG-wielder or "auto-rifler" just doesnt have to go through that. A hit with a bolt rifle should lead to a deadly (if not bandaged) wound 99% of the time.

  2. Classes
    a) There's several classes, from which Rifleman actually never gets picked on purpose, cause noone wants to be a "Bolter". Sadly many people pick squadleader for the wrong reasons, only to get access to the semi-auto rifles or SMGs.
    b) Squadleaders: The game needs an indication wether its possible to spawn on the squadleader or not. The SL needs an indication if someone can spawn on him or not, too.
  3. Battlefield Promotions
    a) Can someone tell me why i get promoted from assault to rifleman? shouldnt it be the other way around?
    b) why doesnt the game tell me when someone got "promoted" to my position, and i lose it. You look at the respawn timer and after not respawning realize, theres something amiss, but what - the game wont tell you.
    c) why can someone be battlefield-promoted to my positon as squadleader (and i lose it) when there are still _other_ squadleader spots free?

  4. Ingame Communication
    a) The system is just awkward. You give people or squads commands, and dont even see if they acknowledge or not. Hell, as SL/squad member you dont even see where you are supposed to go.
    b) Why is the default acknowledgement "No". All naysayers?!?? :P
    c) its really annoying to move your mouse through a labyrinth of buttons to get to the right response...
    d) Why can i hear enemy voice chat? is that supposed to ruin tactics for everyone or some higher purpose i dont understand

  5. Map Bugs
    a) on the Appartment map, sometimes one or two germans start at the russian side at the beginning of the game (happens on 32+ servers).
    b) on grain elevator, when looking at the conveyor from the russian side, your soldier lowers the weapon just like you were looking at a wall. but you arent. you cant shoot and are doomed.
    c) on pavlov (i think) when you attack the first building after the 9th square as russian, and the square gets taken back by germans, you are in a protected area and have 3.2 seconds to nosedive out of a window to survive.
    however the germans can walk right up to the russian spawn throughout the whole map without taking any cap

  6. Map bias
    Some maps "feel" unfair. Wether thats on purpose or not, i can't say. What annoys me most that on many maps there seems to be an easy way to spawnrape. Spawn locations should be:
    a) at least partially covered against arty
    b) impossible to be MG-hosed
    c) "Protected Areas" for the other team
    Its a game. Its supposed to be fun. No matter how realistic it is or not. Thats not even part of the discussion, when i "respawn" magically at some location everyone knows. "Why arent you playing?" - "Well i have to watch that timer go down because its realistic to get blown to bits everytime i spawn"

  7. Lockdown timer
    Get rid of it or make it a server-side option.

  8. Engine bugs
    a) Sometimes when going prone near a wall, i can look through said wall when turning.
    b) firsty-clicky-nothing-shooty bug
    c) auto-aim ai-gunners
    d) sometimes you press the button to mantle, the animation starts and finishes, and you stand in the hole again, re-mantling. On worst occasion i had to mantle 4 times to get over the obstacle.
    e) bug or feature, i cannot cancel reload. i have killed and have been killed several times thanks to this
    f) i once was looking out a window and some officer from outside shot me in the foot with a pistol?!?
    g) sound stops working just so now and then.
    h) stats not working (couldnt care less atm)

Love this game, hate the current situation (as probably most of you do).
