I am suggesting to the Develepors who nicely fixed the VOIP system that it should be squad and team not public. Its kinda stupid you can talk to the opponents. It makes no sense.
Battlefield 2 had the best VOIP system. Commander talkes to squad leader. Squad leader talks to the commander and squad memebers and squad member just talk to each other (squad leader included). That kinda of system should be implemented in RO2 or at least public VOIP disabled. Last edited by NICK ALTMAN; 09-24-2011 at 09:36 AM. |

It's possible to talk to all, team and squad separately. Check out in-game controls to find correct keys.

Thats way off my topic. I am saying we should not be able to talk to the opposing team so there should be no public just squad and team VOIP.

I misunderstood. I still think that it doesn't hurt to have such option possible. If anyone is bothered by it they can just mute selected player in the opposing team.
For me it's great to have VOIP operational. It's way faster to give advices and orders that way. Unfortunately there are many people who just want to run and gun in silence. I stopped caring for them crying about not being able to mute people trying to be more team/squad-oriented. |

What we need is positional VOIP instead of full game speak...add to that the squad chat and a commander chat.

3D voip for all (or teams having their own 3d voip). Squad chat for squad members like now and only SL/TL could use team chat and if possible to have their own channel to discuss tactics.
32 players using team chat is prone to be abused. Although 3D voip will bring problems as well, so there should be easy and fast way to mute ppl. Point a mate and mute him with 1-click and/or muting ppl from scoreboard (which should show who is using the voip with an icon). The current voip system is dated and just drives ppl to use 3rd party comms.

Is there any chance that the developers will comments on the ideas drown out here?

You shouldn't post forum threads waiting on dev input. It's rare. If your topic and the discussion is worth it, they'll decide to comment.
Anyways, I like the fact we can talk to the other team. Between mature players it can be good for a laugh, and a dash of trolling never hurts the other team's motivation to play harder the next round. Consoles may be the place where developers are willing to let gamers wall themselves off from each because we're all so annoying, but PC can be a different story. So I was surprised and after thinking about it, kind of pleased TWI did this. RO2 requires more coordination between players than most FPS, and the games are a lot more personal. And there are plenty of controls to deal with players who are abusing the system.....including a way to turn VoIP off if that's how you want it. I think they should roll with it a while and see how players handle it.
