Secondly, why are you hipshooting a bolt? Its a terrible idea, and it really should be crap. If you have to use hipfire you're close enough to use the bayonet. Melee is your friend. I honestly think you just aren't good enough with the rifles.

ok ok i think a lot of you guys are a bit misguided here. I'm talking about competetive play, not public. When i play public i usually come top, even though i'm using the bolt, public is totally different to competetive play. In Comp. play the games are usually 8v8, meaning that if you use the bolt action you will, at several points, come to a point where you're to close to scope and must hipshoot. If this is impossible to do skillfully, it removes a class from competetive play, as why would you use the bolt when you can use a semi ? In OST, the bolt was still practicable over the semi because you could hip shot, but not here.

Also, a lot of you guys have clearly not either read or perhaps understood most of my post, and are suggesting bayonettes at close range. If a man has an mp-40 and i have a mn9130 the only chance i have of killing him is by a hipshot, and as it would work in OST, the best chance he'd have of killing me would be a headshot, to stop me hipshooting, here however, that whole dynamic is gone. If i go for the bayonette, any decent player will simply shoot me, end of story, bayonetting a decent player to the face is just not going to happen, it's a simple click for him to kill you and can be several seconds for you to kill him.

As for the bandaging, no, the smgs are all usually 1 or 2 shot kill, and the rifle is, whilst usually 1 shot kill, regularly 2 shot kill, which, when you're at close range and somebody is skill-lessly spamming a no recoil cannon at you, whilst you shoot him with a bolt, is just silly.

...Do you really want bolts to be as effective at hip-shooting as semi-autos and SMGs? Is being able to take out other players with one shot at longer range than any other weapon not good enough? There's a reason submachine guns were much preferred over bolts for close-quarters combat.

Bolt action rifle is like railgun from Quake: it scales so much with the player's skill.

I nailed lot of SMG users indoor with bolt action rifle because I knew where they were and my aim was good. Not saying it's my choice of weapon for indoor, but when I'm physically in the right condition (like my hands aren't too cold, I'm not too tired, no distractions, etc.), it gets me by.

This means that, up close, a rifleman has very little chance against a man armed with a more powerful gun, which, in competetive games, is frankly ridiculous. The more skilled player should win the fight, not the one with the bigger gun.
Just snap to IS and fire the gun from there isntead of trying to hip. I have no problems hipping because I got used to judging the guns direction instead of using some run glitch thing.

Again about the hipping at range from autos, go IS fire, win.
