Now bare with me, like the outpost, this could be placed anywhere on the map, you cannot spawn any dwarfs from the study, but instead upgrade them. It would upgrade the average dwarf by x making him walk faster. So if I wanted to make a Digger Dwarf dig faster, I would go to the study and upgrade that for x amount of gold? Seems simple enough to be put into the game.

The diggers increase there digging by leveling up. Go in to sandbox mode spawn a level 20 digger and force him to dig in an direction of your choice with arrows.
