I'll never know if they sound very different, since I didn't get to hear the real thing firing. And 99.99999999999999% of you will never hear the real thing fire either
But since we can't pay tens of thousands of dollars to get the best recordists in the business and all of their equipment out to a remote location in the Nevada desert twice we rolled with the backup.

It has to be the PTRS. The Soloturn weighs 40kg, twice as heavy as the PTRS. It would be ridiculous for someone to be running around with a monster like that in Stalingrad.
http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/5...rsolothurn.jpg Or who knows, maybe they added both for some crazy balancing. Last edited by Sichartshofen; 11-18-2010 at 12:18 PM. |

Yeah, probably itīs PTRS. But why then they would have used L-39 as substitute sound? I mean, bit weird having the L-39 with them in the desert to begin with. And I should think that a semi automatic gun fireing .50 BMG (wouldnīt be too hard to find in the US) would be closer to sound caused by 14.5x114 mm. At least closer than 20x138 mm cartridge, no matter what device is used to fire those cartridges. Last edited by RedGuardist; 11-18-2010 at 12:44 PM. Reason: typo |

Well, crap! Now I guess I'll just have to learn to live with having the immersion of my gameplay ruined everytime someone fires a round from that AT.
The only other alternative would be to not play the game at all. Damn it all to hell (and other pointless explicatives). Please give us server option to remove that particular weapon. Otherwise, people will start bailing from the servers everytime that weapon is used. C'mon. You know they will. ![]() Floyd <posted with just a tad bit of sarcasm >

No S-18/1000 then. Well,to be honest, it would have been nearly impossible to implement realistically. And it would have been too rare. It just would have been one of the weapons never before seen in any game.
