I'm just wondering if now TWI is publishing the ball whether or not teotl studios got full access to the UE3 engine for their game the ball. Or whether its still based on the UDK.
If its on the full UE3 engine (which I expect), what sort of changes/additions were made to the base code that couldn't be done with the UDK?

It is a UDK game. The difference between a full license UE3 game and a well executed UDK game is very small, apart from the name. Especially for a FPS game like ours. FPS games are so well supported by the UDK that there wasn't a lot that we were not able to do.

But you still have to pay royalties to Epic? They don't deserve your precious money

Yes we have to pay royalties to Epic, but we wouldn't have been able to do this without their tech and their support so I think they deserve it

A bit closer to release, which isn't too far off.
