Default Free Look

I have done a lot of searching, but have not found a specific topic based on this, but only several posts.

This is just a very simple suggestion, but can change the whole dynamic of a game. What I think should be included in the game is the idea of free looking, like represented in ArmA II. Not the "free aim" where the screen does not move for a short time while the weapon does. I mean being able to turn your head away from where you are aiming completely to look around. This could be via a key. What would be even more interesting is to have the game support Track IR, as this can make it even more immersive. This is obviously not a new concept, but I would just love to see this introduced into RO.

If I am wrong, however, and there is already a topic on this, please inform me.

Hey Alexander,

We discussed this a bit when TrackIR implimentation came up awhile back.

I liked the simple keystroke "unlock head for swivel" idea too (ref. my 2 posts in):

I tried TrackIR in ArmA2, and using it made me feel nauseous, which is something I've never experienced with flight sims (it felt like looking around without any sense of balance).

I think I prefer having a weapon out front as a reference point.

For those that are curious and have TrackIR already, maybe give this a try in ArmA2. I'm assuming the demo(s) enable the option also, but can't say for sure.

Have trackIR and can't play arma without it, never had any issues.

Yes. It would be nice feature, but I'm not used to it.
