Free Weekend

A recent topic had interesting idea of giving RO away for free to promote HOS.
Of course, it may scare away customers with it's difficulty (at least, I think it would). So, seeing as Steam/Valve has been doing so as of late, would it be likely to see a free weekend when the game comes out for potential buyers to try the game?

I understand that there's going to be a beta but I seriously doubt it's going to be easy to get into unless you own RO or happen to get a key in a giveaway.

I think that of all games on steam RO had the most free weekends. So much that people on the steam forum ended up complaining that RO got so many free weekends.

For kf there weren't enough servers for all the free weekend players so thats probably the reason why there haven't been more than 1 free weekend but instead gift passes.

So I think that its likely that free weekends for hos will happen again (as the average server size is bigger than the 6 players of KF). However generally free weekends do not happen that short after the release. However twi is planning a somewhat open beta, that is probably restricted to a few maps. And for an initial release an open beta that functions as demo as well will probably be the best representation for possible buyers.

(of course before any open beta you need to do testing with other testing teams in more closed and internal betas).
