And on the old screens, the player models looks strange, too
It seems they are cut out of another world.

Hope we could see some new pictures of HoS soon, maybe one image with a Tank in action :P, so that we could be sure that there are vehicles available in HoS.

This screens are from August 2009, and i hope the player models aren't the same today.

Those renders look nice but there are quite a few historical innacuracies and weird color issues. The German uniform looks too blusih (should be a darker grey) and the helmet obviously shouldn't be a sandy brown color -- it should be grey.

I won't judge any more because I'm sure these are early renders and may not be what the character models look like right now.

The helmets don't seem sandy in the voodoo extreme's screenshots

The aspect of the fabric seem poor quality.
We would like to see effect of the weaving.

Diablo have you ever seen dreadlocks. Those uniforms, are really thinly woven wool and then made into felt (like dreadlocks ). You won't see any structure in it, but because of that its nicely water and wind tight.

Like with dreadlocks the hairs cannot be separated any more, because the individual hairs hook into each other, that makes it one of the strongest and most durable types of fabric.

Here's a picture from my 1980's German greatcoat as reference. (don't ask me why I have one :> )

You should be aware that even though there was an official uniform color, German Field Gray (or Feldgrau) that the uniforms would not have all actually been EXACTLY the same color, or correct color. This would all depend on the dye process and company etc. For example uniforms in one batch may be of a more blue gray hue, while another may appear more of a greenish gray hue.
I had read lots about it, but I'm too lazy to find the details and facts at the moment.

On that note as well it would be nice to get some variations in the colouring of the uniforms.

Yea I know there are inconsistencies. I have a friend who's a WWII researcher and hardcore German WWII reenactor and knows the ins and outs of every uniform made and used during the war.

I'm trying to get him to register on these forums and contribute his infinite knowledge on the subject. I'm in no way insulting the intelligence of the RO devs who I know are very knowledgeable themselves -- I'm just saying that it might be useful to have him contribute what he knows.

It was quite known fact that as the war went on, more interesting some of the eguipment quality got. Even the standard quality in 1940s was easily somewhat low once you hit the year 1942.

Another thing is, it's impossible to get 100% matching shades regardless is it modern BDU, ACU or 1940s tunic. That's partly due how the dyeing process works and partly due the fact when exposed to diffrent lightning conditions and subjective point of view (aka human eye), things can look rather interesting.

It's same with the legendary "is it khaki?" joke, only time you can see truly khaki US uniform is if it's been heavily used and you put it in sunlight

yeh that's all correct. Heaps of different factors affect the uniforms of all sides involved in WW2. Don't believe everything you see in movies, unless u wanna :P I read heaps about the U.S uniforms too.. god I must be such a geek these days! haha
