Default Video Card Problem

Well my problem is like no other listed... I can boot up and load fine, but after around five minutes of playing my video card turns off. I have only experienced this problem in BF2 on the night maps before they fixed the shader. I can still hear the game and stuff but there is no video. I was wondering if anyone had experienced this.
My videocard is the Ati Radeon x1800XL, I play DoD:S, BF2, CS:S, and COD2 all on full settings so I was wondering if there was a support issue. I am also in the process of reloading the game, I have had it since the day preloading started so there could be and issue there...
Thankyou
Spriggy
