Default Auto Join as Spectator first and Ping chart

Theres times when you have only 5 secs of trader time before the wave starts and then suddenly 3ppl or more join into the game. Especially when your the only player, you'll notice that while the other 3 players are not included in the wave since they may have not selected their perks on time, the system registers that theres 4 players. This then results in the system generating 200 zombies all for the 1 player.

There should be a lobby where they are logged into first as a spectator, then they may join at the correct time without affecting the system.

Another thing is the Ping. Why is it that we are only able to see the players ping when theyre alive? We should be able to see everyones pings at any time so we are able to advise the person of their ping.
Maybe in the lobby there can be a notification advising and educating the players about the playability of their ping figure and also displaying their ping in the lobby.

I just find it so frustrating when they join into a 300+ ping server in the server browser, Just why cant they check the servers ping first before they join and f*** up the game? and yes it still happens today.

Not everyone has a wonderful internet connection and even more don't understand exactly what ping means or doesn't watch it.
Personally I am currently using a 256kb/s connection which nets about 100 ping at best and 200+ usually (which I don't join but still).
I would like to see ping when dead but I'm not sure that tossing players into lobby is a good idea. While it would stop last minute joining, it would take extra time to join in if you join with 10 or 20 seconds left.
The ping notification wouldn't make a difference because the people that pay it no mind are the people that don't get it.

Look, this is not counter-strike with it's shoddy netcode.
300 ping is perfectly playable and as long as the player doesn't suffer from lag spikes it won't affect the game.
Someone with a ping jumping between 50 and 100 will cause more trouble than someone with a flat 300 ping.

the game shouldn't let you join a game in progress if there is 15 or less seconds left on the clock.

Agree with Akame! I always (almost always) join servers which shows ~300 ping but it use to go down to ~200 when I get in. But seriously it's all about how well you can handle it. I do most head shots even if I have 200 ping, but I miss most head shots while in a stair or similar. I've been playing KF with "bad" ping for like 1.5 years now noone's ever complaining about my skills. So please don't come and say that people with high ping "f*cks" up the game.
I can agree tho that it can be pretty useless to melee or similar with bad ping but im almost always medic/sharpy/commando.

I can agree though that player's who isn't in the game shouldn't be counted towards the zed-counter.

@Akame: When you are dead press "f4" or type "stat net" in console to see ping and similar.

0-99 ping = optimum
100-150 = ok
150-200 = dont expect much from these players
200+ dont bother playing, because you'll let the team down

But on a beginner/normal or hard server, it doesnt matter much. You still can top score.

Thanks for your input, I 100% agree with you on the ping fluctuation no matter the figure. When I was capped, I had fluctuation in ping, so I know what you mean. But with a flat 300 ping, I wouldnt bother playing in any game. I only play in 0-99 ping servers

I agree on your skills mate. With the way your going, imagine how much of a beast you'd be with a ping under 100!

I wouldnt bother if someone had a 300 ping and came to a hard mode server, simply because 1 man standing can easily take out 200 zombies thereafter. But on a suicidal server, people with near 200 ping dont last long.

These days if someone enters a suicidal server with 200+ ping, a lot of nice advising peeps would advise that player, but a lot of them start bad mouthing too. Quite annoying at times and hilarious sometimes.
