This has been suggested before but it was hidden in a thread and i like it.
Basically if there is an internal ranking system. Then showing how hard the players on a server are in comparance to you much like the difficulty bars in killingfloor now would be nice. Then people can join a "hard" game or a "normal" game based on the general skill level on a server. (although individual ratings might not be pinpoint accurate taking the average over all players in the server, will make the rating pretty good in comparance to others) Quake live had a similar system and it was pretty nice. Due to the inaccuracies in rating individual people generally hated the idea of serveradmins having the [option] to lock out people that are too high or too low based on ranking. As its impossible to accurately rate people, but the other way rating groups can be done much easier by making not the servers but the players decide what to join. A system like this allows people to pick a server themselves allowing them to say learn with say the best from the get go, or play in a server in a safe environment with people around the same skill. Simply getting a more consistent experience. If the ranking stats wont have a public ranking page, then people generally wont care that much about the stats used in the system, and thus wont try to find ways to exploit and get higher stats easier because otherwise they cannot join the server.
