Default 'Hardcore Mode' of Sorts

So yeah, we now know that HOS is going to have some gamey features like 'heroes' and ranking and stats and all that (I can understand TW's will to bring more cash in)...so how about the option to exclude it all (including unbalancing any balanced weapons and things of that nature), and play in the raw environment of the original RO? I know people will mutate/mod/whatever to their liking but having it built in and standardized would be highly beneficial to the hardcore-realism sector of the RO fanbase...simply because of accessibility.

Why not just ignore the new features, you ask? Because all of that candy tempts everyone you're playing with to act differently. I much prefer everyone focusing on winning (or just enjoying the game in general), as you've probably read in my other posts by now. Plus it could get in the way of clan affairs.

TW, you can convince yourself that everyone's going to like your product, or you can cover both territories...nullifying the chance of losing a good slice of your base. There's no reason why you shouldn't do this. You have the time.

Or you can quit whining and speculating all the "could be" elements and wait for something concrete before you pass judgment. For all you know, the contributing factors could be very subtle, and not the extreme anti-realism game breaking concept you have thought it up to be.

Do we really need over 9000 of these threads?

I think suggesting that the modern RO game as stands hasn't been balanced in several areas is extremely dangerous territory; as is suggesting that the extremely vague descriptions we have so far are enough to base an opinion of the final product from.

A hardcore mode like in cod4 for RO (even though ro is default more realistic that cod4 hardcore) could be a fun game mode for some people. Although even then you need to still have some forms of balancing ,that team A got an even percentage of winning as team B.

I hope that a sandbox mode or hardcore mode will be created.

I don't hope so. The community is going to be splitted up again. I hate it. I want one general Game Type with several game modes (different objectives to reach). Clanwars: Tripwire will find a solution which is perfect in every respect.

The community is already split up in atleast 3 categories if servers can cather to the 3 individual types of players from the start, then all 3 sectors will probably enjoy the game more.

Casual (public) players / Competetive (clan) players / Realism (unit) players
