Hello
How is the status of playing RO in WINE 1.1.1? The RO entry in appDB need a update. Also there is something called Advocate in the Codeweavers service, URL: http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/advocate_overview This way Crossover Office is free! Comment your experience. Hi
I saw this thread a few days ago and decided to try Red Orchestra with an up to date wine version. first I had some problems in the opengl mode and so tried to switch to DirectX 9.0 mode. And it seems to work! Im using the following config file: http://www.felix-b.info/download.jsp...dOrchestra.ini NVIDIA driver version is 173.14.09. I sucessfully played some hours (still with the mouse patch) with wine 1.1.0 and 1.1.1 |

There is a new How-to in the Wine RO appdb entry!
Also there is a X.org performance trick in the Ubuntu forums. Maybe this will help playing RO in linux. We need a diferent linux thread in this forums, one that reflects the use of Wine, Cedega and CrossOver Office for RO. |

Hi Guys,
I was wondering if anyone could help me. I'm using Crossover Games for Mac, the game itself runs like a dream on my Alu Intel iMac (Mac OS 10.5.4, CrossOver Games 7.1.0), the only real downside is that the mouse doesn't focus/stay in the window during gameplay. If I were to move the mouse to the right to look right, the mouse would eventually step outside of the window and would disallow me looking further than that point, almost as if the mouse wasn't completely focused into the window. Does anyone know how I can fix this? There is a mouse patch for linux (wine), but unfortunately none for unix Mac Os 10.5.4. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Have a nice day. Kind Regards, Baron |

Codeweavers CrossOver Games, share the same code base with WINE; then they share some bugs, in particular this one -the issue that afect runing RO in CrossOver Games 7.1.0-: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6971 The target milestone for this issue is WINE 1.2.0, so you will have to wait the launch of this build and the integration of the WINE code base in Games. Also you can try installing a Linux distribution in your system or try to install WNE on MacOSX; follow this guide: http://wiki.winehq.org/MacOSX/Installing |

I got RO up and running finally. Had to set to open gl and then take out full screen start up. I get the white menu boxes and stuff too. I put in a bunch of code like: wine askljdflaksdjfa/sdkfjasd/lkfjasf;ads but I don't know if that helped the process. When I installed steam via wine 1.1.10, I had the scroll bars but now they went away. Unfortunately for RO, I have some weird mouse thing. I have like invisible walls everywhere when I try to move the mouse. They actually have a bug report on it but it didn't work for me or I didn't do something right because they assume EVERYONE knows how to do everything in linux: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManage...TestingId=8374
I got that mouse patch but I couldn't get it in the directory or something. I don't know how it works. Is installing dod or Portal this bad? Also, is there anyway to get the scroll bars back? |

HELP!!!!!
I am brand new to linux because my WindowsXP machine refuses to run windows any longer, so a friend loaded Ubuntu 8.04 on my box. I have followed the instructions in this thread to install, trying both the Wine approach and the Cedega approach. And I can not get either one to work. I have had the best luck with Cedega, getting all the way to the loading map screen before it just sits there accessing my hard drive. But I have not been able to make the ini changes list because everytime I change something I get a critical error that crashes the game install. I have the latest Nvidia driver installed (I think), but when I change the ini to OpenGL the critical error says I have no video driver. Do I need to install something to get OpenGL on my computer? Any and all help would be VERY appreciated by this newb. Computer: Sony Vaio w/ AMD 2GHz processor, 1M Ram, Nvidia 5200 vidoe card with 128M Ram. (Yes it is OLD, but it was running RO just fine). I MISS MY RO!!!!! |
