Default Release - Isu-152

Shurek and I are proud to present the latest addition to the Red Orchestra arsenal, the ISU-152.

The ISU was a Soviet heavy self-propelled gun which was used in three capacities: heavy assault gun, tank destroyer and self-propelled howitzer. The 152.4-mm ML-20S gun-howitzer used a powerful OF-540 high-explosive shell, with an overall weight of 43.56 kg and containing nearly 6 kg of TNT. These projectiles were effective against both unprotected infantry and fortifications such as pillboxes and trenches; ISU’s were highly effective in urban combat operations such as the assaults on Berlin, Budapest and Konigsberg. The ISU-152 was also a successful tank destroyer; inheriting the nickname Zveroboy ("animal killer") from its predecessor the SU-152. [1]

While the ISU-152 carries a very powerful gun, its main weakness are a slow reload time and lack of anti-infantry machine guns.

The ISU will be making its combat debut on SchutzeSepp's Pariserplatz Beta 3 map in an Assault Gun/Tank Destroyer capacity. The Berlin version of the ISU features the prominent white stripe painted across it's superstructure, a typical marking of Soviet tanks participating in the Berlin siege. Here are some screenshots of the ISU in action on Pariserplatz.

This thread is only concerned with the ISU-152 vehicle itself, for discussion about Pariserplatz B3 please go to it's respective thread at: http://www.redorchestragame.com/foru...252#post377252

Can't wait to try this baby out!

Bloody great job, guys!
Also, now Keystone can change IS-2s on his Pripyat map to ISU-152, just as he planned.

ISU-152 will be featured on Kriegstadt Beta 3. My compiler, however, didn't want to recognize the changes made to it...

Provided that this release is different, I would hope I get some more luck out of it...

I should mention that there are three skin variants for mappers to choose from: Summer, Berlin, and Winter camo.

@EH: yes, there have been a number of changes since you last saw the files - too many to list here. Send me a PM if you run into any trouble with this build.

Nice work, you guys fancy making some desert tanks for Mare Nostrum? I mean you could even do some that were used lend lease in the Eastern Front and take 2 birds with one stone. (Putz haz plenty of Champion champ pies to go round!)

Whatever. The R-35 will eat this thing for breakfast.

Congratulations to everyone involved, good work! Now I just need to find time to actually get some play time with it.

This is awesome, I don't really care about balance now. I've been waiting for the ISU-152 for quite some time and it's nice to see the behemoth finally appear on Red Orchestra. This in itself would be great to deploy against the enemy, or even fighting against it would be fun and challenging.

Thank you Captain Obvious and Shurek
