noooo dont sell-out this game... i hope they never sell-out.. if they do ever sell-out they must have an contract that says that i must be like it's now..

a SP part might just give tripwire blodad tand and the feeling that they wanna make it more accesible for ppl...

and make another UT off it..

I find it so funny how they make using the iron-sights sound like such a chore.

WTH.....

"the game has no crosshair so you have to aim over the sights of your gun"

"ZOMG you need to reload OMG"

"NOOOO hEelTh packs..."

wth was that ? The guy looks like straight out of rehab and that punny girl knows nothing about games.

Good for a laugh and shows again why incompetence rocks today...

I think that review was very fair if you look where they came from.
And in fact they state where they come from. Simplistic fun.

You wouldn't expect that a three year old child would review your favourite flight sim the way you'd do. Same goes here.
And after all such reviews help that people who most likely won't have fun playing RO don't lose money buying the game.

RO is simplistic fun! aim shoot.. just takes it to a new level..
depands patiance.. it's like.. i went to a school with really really good CS players.. (heaton) <-- if anyone knows who that is.. and another great player.. once i told him that dieing in CS sucks.. so booring watching the other guys playing for 5 minutes.. then he answered me that he dont know about that since he never dies!! and that is true.. never seen that guy die more then like.. once or twice.. atleast not against "normal" players..

players like that dont exist in the same way in RO.. everyone dies sometime! ppl from UT and CS dont wanna die! dieing is bad! in RO it's the teamplay that counts the most i believe.. if you kill 2 and die after that.. in CS thats just mediocre in RO you are doing your team a favor.. even killing one then dieing is better in RO then in CS..
of course if you dont teamplay in CS.. but most often it's about who killed the most anyway more then who bombed what and what team won if you ain't having a clan match..

but yes that review was fair but unfair.. cos i rather see objective reviews then subjective.. that review were only from the eyes off what he though not what the game were aiming for.. of course he wrote pros like ultra realistic. but shouldn't that make it worth at least 3/5? since it does what it's supposed to do extremely well.. and yes.. the physics sometimes is kinda strange.. but thats the UT2004 engines fault.. it's kinda dodgy sometimes..

if you built your house on the ice it's not the house thats badly constructed when it sinks in the spring. it's just badly placed..
but i don't think they could have chosen a better engine to build the game on.. just wish there was the same rag doll effects as in the HL2 engine

my review would end up at like 95-98% cos it makes everything it's supposed to do very well

Oh look at that.
http://www.g4tv.com/xplay/reviews/13...rs_Of_War.html
They call Gears of War "realistically refreshing", much better than "the usual spastic strafing first person shooter". I swear, these people are so effing biased. Don't get me wrong, I know Gears is a great game, but to exalt it as a realistic game after bashing RO for the very same thing?

The written review isn't too bad. At least he's honest about it not being his idea of fun, but may possibly appeal to the hardcore. The fact is though, that the written part really isn't a review and anyone wanting to actually learn about the game will watch the video (or the amazingly low brow tv show) and THAT particular item is an absolute disgrace. I don't need to spell it out to anyone, because we've all seen it, but I will say that that woman clearly isn't a gamer. In fact, I highly doubt she ever played RO (or any games for that matter) and simply has her script written for her by some ultra-mainstream console-kiddy-grown-up behind the scenes.

I already know G4TV's a steaming turd in the gaming world, but most people don't. I can't help it that most people are stupid (and only getting worse) but it really shows the sorry state of the world when shows are made by ignorant idiots, for ignorant idiots, with the specific intention of reinforcing that ignorance and therefore the idiocy, without either set of idiots being any the wiser. Yes, it's just a videogame show, who cares? Except that it's exactly the same in the "real" world. Fox News anyone?

I think part of the reason that the reviewers didnt enjoy the game was because they are obviously console players; they couldnt aim well at all! No wonder they didnt enjoy themselves.

I would like to see if those clowns over at X-Play change their attitude after Tripwire releases another game that becomes a blockbuster hit and blows every other realistic shooter out of the water. I bet that then we'll see their true colors.

I hate to say it but most reviewers are payed under the table by the companies that make the game to give it a good review. IE they got paid to say BF2 was a blast to play. Witch is true it's fun, but it gets old realy fast. That and if you don't have the right joystick your never going to be a good pilot. IE keyboard is useless agianst joystick users. IE the ones that use the $600.00 joystick that is the only one the works with BF2. It only works because they set their keys up so they push one button and it dose a whole string of actions makeing combat totaly boring for anyone with them. IE the cricle strafeing choppers, the stright up and down dive bombing jets, the 2 feet bomb drop that never kills the pilot like it should because he has it set to turn the after burners on and off so fast that the game lets him do it for the entire round.

Crap like that totaly ruined BF2 for me. BF2142 is better. but not much. ROOST is killer beacuse of the fallowing reasons:

1. Bunny hopping is not possable. You can still jump, but spam the key and your up and out fast and a sitting duck.

2. No cone of fire crap, and no X hair. Why is this good? becuase it forces the player to use his gun like he would in real life. IE aim and shoot.

3. No laser bullets ala COD, and I mean all versions! This is the thing that totaly ruins online games for me. I mean sure you can use your sights in COD but you can do it and run at the same time? All the sniper dose in that game is run around looking through his scope 24/7 so his shots are pinpoint accurate IE laser like bullets. Same goes for all weapons in that game. You can run and look down your sights witch for some reason give you perfict aim??? where is that realistic? Recoil? it's not even there in IS mode in COD. IE all that the game dose is run an animation for recoil there is no real bounce when you pull the trigger.

I think that about sums it up for me. I mean the fact that ROOST dose not have any of those things in it is what makes it a killer game.

Well, then that makes us two paranoid people aware of each other. Not just one paranoid person believing that game companies have gaming mags and shows on their payola.

i probably get flamed for this word.... but the ones playing RO in that clip are NOOBS!

And she should shut up... "Realistic wargames aint realistic, cos you dont die in the real life".

She should get out of her CS world where you take 20 hits and you need 2 shots to the head with a Glock 9mm.

ok first off there americans. So they dont give a **** about other countries or how to even pronounce words. Lets see she said "Ost front" wrong and said "to see how many bullets are left in the "chamber". Then they talk about how small the crowd is for these kind of games. Way annoying....................

I did like the guy that was trying to snipe, that was funny.

And thats the truth. All those print mags in germany a biased thorwards the game that has the most advertising. Imo they sold out a long time ago. Thats why i give a crap about reviews anymore. If a title looks appealing i give it a try. THANKS for the GUESTPASSES !!!.....

"...Say what you will about Hitler, the man is responsible for a load of great WW II video games..."

Eh..., yeah thanks Hitler! Well done! What would mankind do without you?

I guess after hearing that sentence my grandfather would have dug out his Kar98 and slammed it right into the face of that *****...

What irks me the most is how these folks rely on comedy gimmicks rather than explaining why they don't like the game - I.E., that Yakov bit, or the gameplay clips they ran with the whiny player complaining about reloading (or no crosshair, or whatever.)
