Default trouble w/ new RO install

Hi,
I've been playing RO ever since it's official release. I built a new machine and I'm having trouble. I can start the game just fine, play the practice mode, setup keys, etc. However, I'm having trouble connecting to multiplayer. Each and every time I've tried to connect to MP, my computer just locks. I thought it might be lag or something, but I've tried it for a couple of days now and the same result.

I've removed the player files and reinstalled RO from the net. Right now, I'm at a loss on how to fix this issue. Any ideas?

Thanks,
HB

PS, I was reading the thread about 'having trouble starting the game' and notice it said to delete RO.ini and control.ini (?). Unfortunately, I was unable to find those files as indicated by thread. Exact location? I've made sure that my file extensions are turned on so the full pathway is exposed. Ideas??

steam/steamapps/common/redorchestra/system

But your problem sounds like a software firewall or another third party program that monitors web access.

Run the game in windowed mode (hit alt and enter once you start the game). Go to multiplayer, and then look for something on the desktop popping up asking to let RO access the internet.

The primary cause of the computer seeming to lock up when trying to join a multiplayer game is because a firewall is blocking it. Press alt-return to get the game into windowed mode and check when you try to join that there are no popups prompting you to allow the game.

-edit- damn, beaten to it!
