Default WWAUT - Lighting the fire and bringing the boom

To kick things off this week, we hope everybody enjoyed our presentation at the PC Gaming Show at E3 last week. For those of you who may have missed it, here is the complete Killing Floor 2 segment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLV2GhDGtzQ . If you’d like a closer look at the Killing Floor 2 video we showed on stage check it out here!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxsGoNE7BeE

So let us talk a bit more about what we showed off during that video. For the next update we are working towards 2 new maps, 2 perks (Firebug and Demolitions), as well as new features (and feature improvements). Keep in mind that many of these items are still very much in development and are a work in progress. We will start with the one many had guessed based on previous coverage:

Firebug - BBQer extraordinaire, lover of everything that burns. Known tools of the trade:
Tier1 - Caulk n’ Burn: Get close, get personal, burn its face off
Tier 2 - Trench Gun: Incendiary rounds make for a fiery start (and end) to most zeds
Tier 3 - Flamethrower: The classic burn baby burn
Grenade - Molotov : Area denial and bon party starter

And onto explosive new developments:

Demolitions - If overwhelming firepower isn’t working, you aren’t using enough. Known tools of the trade:
Tier 2 - C4
Spoiler!

Tier 4 - RPG 7

Fans got a glimpse of one of our new upcoming maps, Evacuation Point. The site of a Danish last stand as people rushed to escape to sea to avoid a painful death against the incoming zed hoard.

And last but not least we showed off some cool new FleX gore tech that we’re working on with Nvidia. We’ll be talking about and showing much more of this tech in the near future. If you’re interested in a bit of a deeper dive into the technology check out this Nvidia blog from E3: http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/art...rks-physx-flex

I was hoping for Sharpshooter more than Demo. Oh well, I will take what I get.

I like what I see

Am I to presume the unmentioned weapons haven't been finalized yet? Excited to see what T4 weapon will best the flamethrower and that C4 is a T2 weapon, leaving the grenades open to something else for demolitions.

The unmentioned weapons are indeed non finalized. They either aren't in game yet, or we are trialing gameplay (and may decide to pull that weapon and replace it with something else). Once those things firm up, I'll post about em!

1. Can the c4 be picked up after its set? Will the c4 stick to walls or other surfaces than the floor?

2. Any plans on giving the firebug its flare guns back? Will other perks see class specific pistols? For example a support carrying a taurus judge shooting 410 shotgun rounds?

3. Any particulars on the berserker perk rework?

Nothing too surprising about the firebug but that's certainly not a bad thing! I'm eager to see how it will play and the caulk gun certainly got my attention.

A bit more suspicious about the demolitions though... C4 as a full tier weapon? It seems a bit weird,I don't see it as a "weapon" more like a tool . I hope the T1 weapon will do nicely to make him viable. And the RPG-7 as a T4... I'm also disappointed , as it's certainly a powerful weapon , but I bet it will be quite heavy and will need to be reloaded after every shot? I would have prefered the M32...Then again, maybe it's the T3 , but it would be too overpowered I suppose.

Nice looking maps ! Keep up the good work

1) We are still refining how it works. Currently it sticks to pretty much everything (yourself, other players...) and that will change.

2) Not to my knowledge for the initial set. We are experimenting with one final weapon for the perk for the initial set. Hope everything works out because I think it will be amazing.

3) Beyond the melee updates previously detailed not yet. We are still working to get the new perk tree in game. Once it is, and we like how it feels, I will be talking about it.

Looks very nice and well done.... but the real question on my mind (and everyone's as well) is, when will see this update coming in? The rendering and GIF's suggests that the content is mostly done (if not completely done), and the remaining work would just be balancing issues.

I have a question, the last sentence on Nvidia's site explaining this new "Flex" tech says:

"For other developers, Flex is integrated into NVIDIA’s custom Unreal Engine 4 branch, enabling the creation of next-gen effects for any Unreal Engine 4 game."

Does this mean that KF2 might make the jump to U4 after all?

Then that basically mean the RPG-7 is on par with the L.A.W. from KF1, maybe replacing it...

Some of the text like "Rädda oss!" and "Hiss" is Swedish, not Danish.

I'm guessing M32 is either out or whatever is replacing it is going to be better than LAW/RPG again...
