If we could have some very basic info concerning setting up servers from officially approved companies.

I have no idea, despite searching for info, how long I should expect to wait for my server to appear in the game's browser. Because of this I don't know if I should still be waiting or if there is a problem I need to address or...whatever. I cannot even connect to the server by direct IP...is this NORMAL or a BUG? Basic basic basic information TWI, and giving it to us instead of IGNORING the numerous posts that have asked for help (I've read them, people left hanging with no answers) would avoid a great deal of frustration and uncertainty.

Thankyou for your consideration in this matter.

According to Gametracker my server is still called "Another Gameservers.com Red Orchestra 2 Server is born"

despite my having given it a proper name in the admin panel some hours ago.

Is this another bug?

"Status: Alive"

Have you changed maps since changing the server name? Most settings seem to get updated during the next map change after they are made.

Restarting the server forced Game Tracker to see its correct name.

Via the Web Admin (if that's the one that has all the server settings on TWI-style papery background).

I was hoping the restart would also result in the server showing up in the game's browser, but I guess that was being too hopeful.

Another bloody question...how does one force the server to play only Territory maps? I can see other types are playing from within the Web Admin and can find no obvious setting that configures this.

Can't help you with your server not showing up, but you can set it to run territory only by setting only TE- maps in the Map Cycles page (towards the bottom of the left hand menu).

Thanks Nutta. I did do that a few hours ago but there were still non-TE maps coming into play. There's a TE one on at the moment so maybe/hopefully it was just a glitch.

At this rate it won't matter though, nearly 12 hours after going live there's still FA in the browser and I still can't IP connect. The only thing more ****ed than this game right now is the support in the 'support' forum.

Selnix, you're a star mate.

PMd me, invited me onto his TS channel, checked the IP, found the GSP had probably uploaded the wrong files and told me to apply the HDSL mod. Five minutes later the server was up in the game's browser.
