Default Forum layout change for the upcoming Rising Storm!

In case you hadn't noticed... we've rearranged the forums a little to make some proper space for Rising Storm - the upcoming new, standalone game that takes us to the Pacific for the first time!

Let us know what you think - and what are you anticipating most in the new game??

Tripped me out for a second until I realized what happened. Looking forward to all the new weapons and game mechanics. Can't wait for the trenchgun and the m1 carbine

I see that all the RO2 and RS stuff has been combined. I like that.

That means that it is not necessary to pre-own RO2 to get RS, as RS includes all the MP content of RO2 within itself. That's why RS will be cheaper for RO2 owners.

Shouldn't the beta forum be "RO2 / RS Beta Testing"??

While I most certainly am looking forward to Rising Storm and the awesome jungle fights and amphibious assaults that go along with it, I, since the Americans are being released, am most excited for a western front mod pitting the Americans against the Germans. Hopefully once the Americans are released a western front mod can be made and all of my favorite fronts of WWII can be put into the game.

No, because that forum section is not being used for the RS beta (it is also public, the RS beta forums are private).

Banzai charges, mortars and flamethrowers sounds fun. From what i've seen in the videos, the new type of weapons bring some fresh new combat mechanics

As a side note, i'm curious how the loyal day1 RO2 customers will be handled.

Forums have merged, eh? This bodes well for a near release...

I'm predicting an early June release, perhaps June 6th.

I can't say I like the idea of putting Rising Storm threads in with the Red Orchestra threads.

Agreed, I leave for a week or two and this is what happens? :P I preferred the separate forums

I'm not sure if it was a good idea, things may get a little confusing if talking about features present in both games and we will need to be constantly tagging threads [RO2] or [RS] to not mix things up.

Not constantly - just until RS releases then there will be no real difference.

I for one can not wait until RS. The asymmetric warfare really appeals to me. The question is if it was done right.
