Everybody just post linux beta bugs here.
Just played it a sec ago and a notices a few problems. One is problems with steam over lap - Sometime , it dosent work. Also , Rat 5 mouse dosent work well. mouse 7 maps as middle mouse But i think this might be the mouse problems as it never worked with linux really Have to say , looks well . lack of severs is a big thing - could only see 3. Ill check my windows partition now to make sure its not a bug Last edited by bpb101; 11-09-2012 at 07:23 PM. |

I noticed that the image through the scope is often corrupted.

The scope issue seems to be resolved for me by setting the scope image to 'textured' instead of 'high' in the options menu. The performance is not quite as good as I would have expected on my notebook with a Radeon hd6750m, but I have been having quite a bit of fun with the game.

Same issue here with the modelled sniper scope, works fine in texture mode, though. As i recall, this is quite an old issue (goes back to the RO:CA mod days).
Has anybody experienced the same broken display of fps like in the screenshot attached while calling "stat fps" on the in game console? Ubuntu 12.04, Nvidia GTS 250, 310.14 Driver.

Also noticed some problems with motion blur and the mg models/ animations; somehow the german MG34 and the russian DP28 seem broken while experiencing som action with motion blur:
This issue appears on highest settings with motion blur turned on, on the same settings with whith blur turned off there is not such problem. This doesn't seem to affect the MG42 animations, however.

Ever time I try to start up the game the loading icon appears and steam says I am in game but it crashes immediately after. Is anyone else having this issue? I took a screen shot of how far the game gets before crashing.

I can second this, I get the same behavior as you have in your screen shots. However I haven't tried fixing by turning off motion blur.

EDIT!!!! VIDEO is now working after uninstalling/installing Nvidia proprietary driver version 310.40 and starting with lowest detail setting possible, THEN tweaking up until there are issues. Then I backed off the settings a notch. In my original post here I was using 310.32...
However SOUND stopped working AFTER I added "SDL_AUDIODRIVER=pulseaudio" to ~/.bashrc to fix sound in Counter Strike: Source. Sound works in CSS now, and in Half Life, but NOT RO: Ostfront. Operating System: OpenSuse 12.2 64-bit Kernel: kernel-desktop 3.4.33 (default 64-bit desktop kernel set up for low-latency) RAM: 6GB Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 480 Graphics Driver: Nvidia Proprietary 310.40 Sound: Onboard Intel ICH10 using "snd-hda-intel" kernel module Steam Client Version: steam-1.0.0.35-1.1.x86_64 NOTE: Sound DID work before in HL, and in RO: Ostfront before I made the change so it would work in CS: Source... Removing and reinstalling the graphics driver doesn't help. Operating System: OpenSuse 12.2 64-bit RAM: 6GB Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 480 Graphics Driver: Nvidia Proprietary 310.40 Last edited by tele2win; 03-13-2013 at 06:19 PM. Reason: EDITED!!! NO SOUND but video works now... |

All Linux Sound & Graphics Issues with Red Orchestra Ostfront (and all other games) are now fixed. Linux Distro: openSuse 12.2 64-bit Kernel: 3.4.33-desktop Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX480 Graphics Driver: Nvidia Proprietary 310.40 Steps taken:
3. set the "game detail" to "custom" 4. turning off motion blur seemed to be the biggest. 5. also off: hdr bloom, force fsaa screenshots, and antialiasing 6. all other detail settings are at their highest hope this helps someone... |
