Something mappers could use.
Nestor (Tony Gillham) has these archives up that I bookmarked awhile back. It is mostly based on research I think they used for RO2 but might be useful to others basing custom maps in and around Stalingrad.

OMG - I had forgotten all about those.

I have some other stuff as well but people will have to ask me.. I'm not going to go looking for people that might need it, I'm afraid.

I used that same quote back on school but where you mentioned people
I used to say girls. It always worked well.

It is best to supply us with both. But cooked is what is needed.

As a heads up, the submission page is now up! You can find it here: http://www.heroesofstalingrad.com/co...n-application/

Mappers have until the 15th to submit their maps for phase 1.

My hope is the RO2 version of the excellent Berezina map makes the cut this time around. Good luck to the mappers!

Any approximate idea about how many people are going to be submitting maps?

My current opinion is 11 with perhaps 1 to 4 mystery maps that show up out of nowhere.

I sure hope so. The current amount of custom maps seems quite low considering the size of the prize pool.

Remember that the contest runs in two phases.

How does that work, exactly? From the rules it seems as if there are really two distinct contests. Are the entries to the later one only drawn from the first phase or will new entries show up in both?

Phase one entries and new entries are acceptable to phase 2 of the contest. The Grand prize is picked from the second phase entries.

Yoshiro,

I hope you don't mind me asking and I would really appreciate an answer to this. Could you please let us know what TWI's plan is on when to release the custom maps through a patch? I am wondering if the maps submitted in phase 1 will be send to clients via an update prior to phase 2 or if all maps will be released only after phase 2 has ended?

Personally, I can imagine that there is a plan on having an update around beginning/mid of September since it's RO 2's 1st anniversary.

Thanks

It really comes down to the quality of the maps in phase 1. If after the judging is done, the winners are in "release" quality, we will likely do just that and bundle them up in an RO 2 steam update.

Thanks for letting us know, I was actually just about to ask the same question.
