I once was on a full 64p server, and managed to get over 20 votes to kick a guy, without success. I even had to explain how to use the menu.

And I'm sure mike speaks from genuine experience, but I wonder if it isn't from a different game?? Only said because I have NEVER seen a successful votekick on RO2, let alone a malicious, abusive votekick. The abuser would need to have a whole clan of friends on the server, or be very persuasive for it to work.

Also, in regards to the discussion about kicking people for poor performance, I think it's wrong. That's what rolekick is for.

Furthermore I believe in gaming democracy, if a %50 people on a decent sized server want to kick me for whatever reason, fair enough. If my mannerism, playstyle, or whatever is SO unpleasant to so many, let me find a new server.

There is no text colour in RO2. It's all the same. I honestly don't think many people take notice of ongoing votes. Not to forget how concentrated people are on the game and not text messages.

I have seen ONE kick vote be successful most of the grief trolls have it fine tuned so they can Team kill a bunch, disconnect, reconnect, TK a bunch-

They are tedious people in need of severe attention-

I wish kick voting worked as well as mute communication does.

But half the time the player list is only showing 6 players and the troll is often not on it.

I really don't understand this. The game's been out for almost a year and there's no coloured chat yet. I really don't understand why. Is there a bug preventing TWI to do it? Some engine limitation? Because I'm sure a single TWI dev could implement coloured chat in less than ten minutes.

Neither do I.. it's been discussed many times and I think most people would agree that colour in chat is important. I doubt there's any particular reason for this. Its great when it comes to Squadleader messages, Server messages (or spam Lol) and friendly/enemy messages. It does not only make people pay attention for important things (such as vote kicking!) but it also makes it easier for us players to filter out rubbish.

a lot easier to filter out rubbish in DH

Not really.

Color would help to notice who is talking. For example - I could ignore text written by the enemy and focus more on squad and team messages. That doesn't mean, however, that people would stop using team and squad chat (most likely team chat) to discuss unimportant things (from the point of the battle). Like complain about certain weapons, people, maps, etc.

Another problem is that many options (like muting, voice kicking) are hidden without explaination where to find them or how to use them. They are simply not enough user-friendly to be used or regular basis. It's simpler to ignore certain behavior rather than try to make a vote kick succeed, because of how hard it is to work and how unintentional to find.

Unfortunately, that is true. The effort required to place a vote is greater than the annoying player you are trying to vote kick, especially if you know the attempt will be futile as it often is in almost every single case.

Hope this gets tweaked, because all the feature does now is tease us into thinking we have some control and the end result is we are just wasting our time placing useless votes.

Yoshi, does this mean 50% of the TEAM or 50% of the PLAYERS have to vote?!?

Because if 50% of the TEAM have to vote, this system will NEVER work!
Why would the other team (in which the player who should be kicked is not in) vote to kick somebody??
They dont even know if the accusations are right or not, cause they dont see his actions if he is in the other team.

And if its 50% and no one of the other team will vote, this means EVERYONE of the own team has to vote, which will NEVER happen in a pub game.
This even mean that the guy who has to be kicked has to vote as well to get the number of necessary votes!

CONCLUSION: 50% of the votes OF THE TEAM is far enough to get a fair trade!
