Default Mutate command in management console

Noticed this in the 27 July patch notes.

The 'Mutate' command can now be used from the management console.

Can anyone expand?

I run the dynamic map rotator mutator and I copy this into the additional URL var part of the map change area if I need to manually change a map.

Is this new fix supposed to allow me to select a mutator from a list instead of adding it as the additional URL info ?

If that is the case, well they need to also add ?min and ?max player numbers options.

Most server admins would put this in the additional URL var when they need to manually move a map on.

For example if I manually change a map I always will include this in the 'additional URL vars' section

?minplayers=16?maxplayers=58?mutator=DynamicMapRot ator.DynamicMapRotator

Don't confuse the Management Console and the Change Map panels...

The latest version of the DynamicMapRotator contains 'mutate' commands. Those commands are used to edit the DMR config file live (+ other stuff). Previously, they had to be executed from IN-GAME, when logged as administrator.

The update doesn't affect the Change Map panel, so if you make a manual map change, you still need to include the "?mutator=DynamicMapRotator.DynamicMapRotator" .

With the new update, you can now execute the mutate commands from the Management Console. For example, if you want to edit one of your filters, you can type mutate DMR_EditFilter at="2" max="26" (changes the MaximumPlayersCount condition of the 3rd filter to 26). However, at this time, the output appears in "Chat console" panel. It is not very handy, and also, the Chat Console won't display all of the output. For example, if you type mutate DMR_Help in the Management Console, only the last part of the help message will be displayed in the Chat Console...

It will have to be worked on in a future release of the mutator. Being able to use the Management Console only will be great, especially, because of copy-paste and mouse support, but also since you don't get spammed by all the messages of the game and the players while editing the filters in-game...

Got ya. Thanks mate.

Not really sure if there are times that I would need to change that mutator on the fly but good to know it can be done.

Well, the most useful might be OverrideUrl... sometimes you want to try something that's not in your rotation, but don't want to force a map change in the middle of a match... or simply don't want to wait until the last second to make a manual map change. In that case, OverrideUrl is the best option.
