I'm so pumped! Despite the lack of an entire new front, this patch is chock full of new content. It seems tons of weapons have been reanimated as well, and I can't wait to play as the Americans in North Africa. I am a tad disappointed they're only getting one map, but that's a heck of a lot better than nothing!

Hello and welcome back to another Forgotten Hope 2 update.
Today we have a few screenshots of some new American vehicles that you will be able to find on the map Sidi Bou Zid. First up is the M3 Halftrack. Entering service in 1941, it was an improvement over the earlier and smaller M2 Halftrack and featured a rear door to the crew compartment. It differs from the later M3A1 variant already featured in Forgotten Hope 2 in that the armament is pintle mounted above the front seats rather than on a ring mount above the front right seat. The M3 Halftrack was made by Agus and exported by Kev4000. ![]() Next up we have two Gun Motor Carriages based on the M3 Halftrack. The first of these is the 75mm Gun Motor Carriage M3. The success of the German armour in the invasion of France showed the need for an effective tank destroyer, and a solution was quickly found by mounting a 75mm Gun M1897A4 onto an M3 Halftrack chassis. Making up the majority of all tank destroyers in service in the North African Campaign, by 1944 it was considered obsolete in Europe although it continued to see service in the Pacific Campaign until the end of the war. The M3 GMC was made by Agus, Darren and Pointblank and exported by Kev4000. ![]() The second variant on show today is the M13 Multiple Gun Motor Carriage. The US Army recognised the need for a mobile anti-aircraft gun, and had initially used various vehicles armed with single machineguns. With the adoption of the M33 twin M2HB powered mount, they had an effective weapon, and in 1942 the M33 mounted onto the M3 Halftrack was standardised as the M13 MGMC. However, within months it had become substitute standard with the adoption for the M16 MGMC armed with the more powerful M45 quad mount. The M13 MGMC was made by Agus and exported by Kev4000. ![]() You will also be able to find the M33 dual mount as a stationary anti-aircraft gun. |

I confess, shortly after the latest update I actually uninstalled FH2 simply because I was too damn rusty, and with the small but seasoned player base, was destined for a butt kicking most of the time.
Though, I might have to reconsider and reinstall it. Just have to take my beatings like a man. That is quality stuff there.

За Сталина!
Hello and welcome back to another Forgotten Hope 2 update. Today we'd like to show off perhaps one of the most important armoured fighting vehicles of all time. But first, we'd like to extend a warm welcome to the talented Gurdy, who joins the development team as a static modeller. The T-34 evolved out of a project to design a replacement for the BT series of tanks using information gained at the battles of Khalkhin Gol. Tests with increasingly armoured and armed prototypes lead to the initial design for the T-34. With the poor performance of existing Soviet tanks in the Winter War and with German successes in France, the T-34 was hurried into production. At the time of the German invasion of the Soviet Union in June 1941, the T-34 was one of the best tanks in existence - though only on paper. In the initial invasion, serious problems with mechanical reliability, supply shortages and poor internal layout largely removed any advantage the T-34 had over the Panzers it faced. The tank commander was severely strained by the task of aiming the cannon and the lack of effective observation devices, and the Germans noted that T-34s were slow to find and engage targets. ![]() The first T-34 variant on show is the model of 1943. This was an improvement with the addition of a new hexagonal turret, which earned it the nicknamed "Mickey Mouse" from the Germans due to the distinctive silhouette made by the two circular roof hatches when open. Our T-34 features the cupola that was added to this turret later in the production run to provide better all around vision to the commander. ![]() The second variant on show today is the T-34-85. With the appearance of Tiger and Panther tanks, which were immune to the 76.2mm gun, it was decided that a more effective weapon was needed. The answer was the 85mm ZiS-S-53, which was mounted in a new 3 man turret. Although still not a match for the Panther, the new design greatly increased the combat effectiveness of the tank, whilst the minimal changes allowed production to remain high. Nearly 56,000 T-34s were made in total, of which nearly 45,000 were lost. The ones in Forgotten Hope 2 were made by Pointblank. |

Hello and welcome back to another Forgotten Hope 2 update.
Today we would like to show you a render of arguably the most important weapon of the Soviet infantryman. It is of course, the Mosin-Nagant M1891/30! ![]() The Mosin-Nagant began its long life with a competition to replace the aging single shot Berdan rifles that equipped the Tsarist army. The winning design was Russian Captain Sergei Ivanovich Mosin's rifle, with the addition of the clip feed, magazine spring and feed interrupter of Belgian Léon Nagant's proposal. The original Mosin rifle was made in Infantry, Dragoon and Cossack variants. Following the victory of the Red Army in the Civil War, the decision was taken to modernise the rifle. The M91/30 was based on the earlier Dragoon rifle, many of which were reworked to the new standard. Improvements included a hooded post front sight, flat rear sight marked in metres, and eventually a change from the octagonal "hex" receivers to round ones. By 1945, 17.4 million M91/30 rifles had been manufactured. The M91/30 also had some success as a sniper rifle, fitted with either a PE, PEM, or most commonly a PU scope. The mounting of these scopes above the receiver meant that a bent bolt had to be fitted. The Mosin-Nagant rifles were made by Seth Soldier. |

all this content looks cool, and I don't mean to belittle it, but how many players are playing this right now? I would install BF2 again but if theres like 10 people that's a bummer.

During peak hours there are usually two full 64 player servers. Most of the people who play at the moment are Europeans, so if you are free during Europe's prime hours, then you are squared away. I live in the Eastern US time zone, and even I can find people to play with between 5-8PM. Earlier is better for me, but there are definitely players so download the mod NOW. It's worth it.

My only problem with this was the lack of people to play against, but the game itself was and is awesome. A very good game.

Hello and welcome back to another Forgotten Hope 2 update.
Today we have an announcement by the Forgotten Honor and World at War tournaments, but first, a render of a rather unsuccessful German rifle: the Gewehr 41(W). ![]() In 1940, the Wehrmacht recognised a need for a semi-automatic rifle to improve the firepower of the infantry. They decided on the specifications this rifle should have, and submitted this to various arms manufacturers. Both Walther and Mauser produced prototypes. Mauser's design closely followed the demands given: it could be used as a bolt action rifle should the gas system fail, it had no external moving parts, and it did not have a gas port bored into the barrel. The Walther design ignored the first two of these requirements, as they proved too troublesome to follow. As a result, while neither design was particularly good, Walther's was obviously the better of the two and was accepted into production. Since no gas port was allowed to be bored into the barrel, the weapon used the "Bang" system (after its designer Søren H. Bang). Expanding gas was trapped in a ring around the end of the barrel and drove a piston that cycled the mechanism. It was prone to fouling and was difficult to clean. These problems eventually led to the G43, which used a modification of the gas system used in the SVT-40. The G41(W) had a fixed 10 round magazine, and was loaded using standard 5 round stripper clips. Between 40,000 and 145,000 rifles were manufactured between 1941 and 1943. Ours was made by Seth Soldier. You can also see a preveiw of the animations for this weapon at Chad509's Devblog. |
